Labor Day Weekend
Hey, Guys and Girls:
I was just wondering what everyone will be doing to celebrate Labor Day weekend. I know there are going to be some grills smokin' with the aroma of big juicy steaks filling the air. Yummy! There can never be too many families and friends around to help celebrate and I hope everyone has a wonderful time. Love and enjoy them while you still have them.
I will be spending my holidays alone because my Sweetie Pie is out of town on an intense job assignment. I may as well do something productive so I'll start packing up things for the move back to my house in Alabama.
Will someone pitch me a steak bone over the fence with a few bites of meat left on it? lol
Everyone stay safe and enjoy your weekend.

I'm going to fry up some beer battered catfish and fling some hush puppies in the kettle for some friends. I'm sure adult beverages will be consumed.

Probably try to spend as much time with my dad as possible during this long holiday weekend....I know his days are limited and so does he. Luckily for me I only live about 5 miles from him.
It is what it is.

Re: Labor Day Weekend
Hi back to you Bugs and sorry to hear your Sweetie Pie is away working. I hope you dont do too much packing as you have to watch your shoulder now. Any news on when your new surgery date is? I hope you have a good move back to ALabama. I sure do missing grilling and the smell of it all. Now that I live in apt style condos we are not allowed to operate grills on the balcony. But I might just head down to my friends cottage for a day to take in the St Lawrence River if the weather is good. I know they will light up the BBQ and have some steaks. Have a good one folks!
Hey Chubs, have a nice weekend with your Dad. I am sure he will appreicate the time you spend with him now and it will leave you with good memories.

Sad to hear that,Chub.
My dad passed March 30,1982. It's been a long time ago but I still think of him often.

Thanks, I will be a work widow, living alone, for the next 2-3 years except for the short furloughs the company allows which will be few. That's why I'm selling this house and moving back to Alabama where I have lots of sweet cousins. He dodged the bullet on this one and didn't have to go overseas; I hope that continues. I had a doctor visit yesterday and my shoulder is better but a torn rotator cuff will not heal without surgery. He has asked me to pospone it for 6 months and to be very careful not to reinjure it or try to compensate with the right arm and over use it. I will not be lifting anything heavy or using my left arm above my head. That means I'll spend some time on a step-ladder pulling things down from closets. Lifting heavy boxes will be left up to someone else. I think my biggest challenge will be wrapping all my china and boxing it. The last time the movers did my packing they stole my silverware and a box of paintings and documents. I know you will enjoy visiting your friends on the St. Lawrence river. I hope it is the best. There is just something about being on the water that is so calming and peaceful. Geo should be very calm with all that fishing therapy he will be getting. lol

Chub, I think it is so commendable that you will be spending extra time with your dad. That is called 'making memories.' There comes a time when that is all we have left so make some good ones and try to make some photos also. I will be thinking of you and your dad this weekend and I wish you a wonderful Labor Day weekend.

Re: Labor Day Weekend
Saturday I will have my trusty longbow and we will be setting in a tree stand watching the sun rise. Will probably leave around 10 a.m. to attend a dove shoot for disabled hunters for a magazine story I am doing. Will leave there and arrive at Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium for kick off. Sunday and monday, bowhunting daylight to dark.

Bug I have a torn rotator cuff and my shoulder became stiff because of the tear and the fact I did not use it because of the pain and the fact I did nothing for a year. Finally had MRI and was sent to an orthopedic surgeon. He told me he would not operate until I had done exercises to loosen up the shoulder. I went back in two weeks and was improving very well he told me to keep up the exercises and come back. When I went back I was doing great and was in no pain, He asked me if I was doing so well why should we operate and I agreed. He said the tear would not heal and if it got worse to come see him. I was telling another Dr. this story and he said he thinks any tear will heal over time.
Do they have you doing any exercises?
Have a good Labor day Bug.
