Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
I got two for Christmas present from the best wife ever.have not used it on the water but I have been throwing it around in the yard. It is a lot more sensitive then my kisstler magnesium, and the falcon low rider. Those two rods where my most sensitive rods I had until I have been messing around with the veritas. And it's $50 cheaper. I paired my spinning with a pflueger president and the casting with a bps pro qualifier. My wife could even tell the difference in how much more sensitive the veritas was then all my other set ups. Hope this helps.

Thanks Chuck....I know what you mean about the sensitivity, I felt it immediately when I picked one up for the first time! Can't wait to get two of my own!

Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
I have a 6-6 spinnerbait rod that I really like. I'm a loomis guy so I'm not that easy to please but this is a great rod for the money.
Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
All the reviews are glowing. Sounds like a very solid rod for $100.
Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
There are several good rods out there in the 100 price range. I own some shimano rods in that range that are nice.
While I have no doubt the Veritas is a nice rod for the money it only has a 1 year warranty on it. I would rather have a shimano with a lifetime over the counter warranty.

Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
Well, I picked up two of these bad boys...the 6'9" ml spin & the 7' m spin. They look awesome with my two new white Cabela Tourney spin reels...just hope they catch as well as the look!

Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
Can't wait to use mine. Got one for christmas, 7'6" that I am going to use for flippin and pitchin. Haven't decided on what reel to put on it, any suggestions?
Re: Abu Garcia Veritas Rod
Wldmanwatts, is that 7'6" flippin stick telescopic? Compared to other flipping sticks you have owned how heavy is it? As far as reels I like a high speed one for flipping to take line up quickly and make followup casts. I use a Curado 200E7, but check out the Diawa Aggrest weighs the same as the 200E7 but is faster at 7:3:1.
