I think firing someone for this comment is wrong. The initial comment seems innocent to me but I wasn't there. I'm sure she has been called an ahole before by women and men. LIke said in another post we have become a nation of wussies.....JMO

Re: Ron Franklin Fired
Nation of wussies? Maybe...maybe not, I don't know. Unfortunately in today's world we are are all but forced to live with and accept being politically correct....and I think that's what we have here with this Ron Franklin guy. I'd say if someone graduates from broadcasting school (ESPECIALLY broadcasting) then they may as well step up their education a little more by taking a class in political correctness. Honestly, I'm not very good at being politically correct...but I gaurantee I don't call any woman in my place of employment "sweet baby" or "arse hole" either one...it don't work, I ain't goin' there, etc. In no way am I defending or criticizing Frankin, simply because I wasn't there to witness it first hand....just sayin'.
Another recent thing in the news this week about being politically correct is the rewriting of some of Mark Twain's novels in order to get rid of the "N" word, all for the sake of being politically correct. The idiots making the decision to rewrite these novels...(who ever the idiots are), have got to be kidding me! My gawd man, Mark Twain's novels are classic AMERICAN litertaure, they are a part of AMERICAN history itself! This is the way it was back then (late 1800's) and this is how Mark Twain wrote, for the life of me, why change it after ALL THESE YEARS?! That's sort of like putting a LEED Certified PLATINUM addition on the historic Farnsley-Moreman House on the bank of the Ohio River.
I am SICK and I am TIRED of political correctness! It seems ironic to me that the Mark Twain novels are just so happening to be rewrote under Nobama's watch over this country.
PUKE!
P.S. - Don...sorry to get off the topic of your thread but one thing lead to another and this is where it ended up. Peace Bro!

Re: Ron Franklin Fired
I don't buy the "political correctness" argument in this case. I know if I walked into a meeting at my workplace and started addressing my coworkers as, "A--hole," I'd probably get fired too, and rightly so. Why should anybody have to take that kind of crap?

Re: Ron Franklin Fired
Let me start by saying I am a huge Ron Franklin fan. Got a chance to spend some time with him at the Classic in Pittsburgh. he does a great job on football, fishing and NASCAR. All that being said, he screwed up and has to pay the price. You don't call your coworkers a-hole (at least to their face). Sorry, this is not a matter of politically correctness, this is a matter of human decency and respect.
