I did using my kayak way up the creek, then i woke up.........seems i was dreaming:cool:
Re: State Record Largemouth?
Wouldn't surprise me either. Love the bluegill fishing down there as there are plenty of 10"+ gills to be caught. Must be something in the water?
Re: State Record Largemouth?
Doesn't suprise me either...that lake is full of big fish! You don't catch a lot there, but the ones you catch are generally nice keepers. I caught a 7.8lb lm there two July's ago, and we always seem to get close to the 5lb range on every trip. Love that lake!
Hope that pig was released if it was caught....so I can have a shot at her! :D

Re: State Record Largemouth?
Its possible but I expect the next to record to come from a lake with trout in it like the last couple state records.

I it don't hurt that they are also florida strain bass
Re: State Record Largemouth?
Yep florida strain was stocked in california in the mid 70's--and they eat trout and grow big. When i was out there they said that when they stock them lakes with trout the bass see the truck back down at the dam to unload the trout and the bass just sit and wait and then the water just explodes when the bass start feeding on the 12 inch trout there stocking.
