Not shocking. Good to see Tennessee has more integrity than Ohio State. I wonder if UT would have done the same thing if their basketball program had equal success to Ohio State Football team? I think not for it is all about Winning and Losing in College Sports.
AD should have been let go along with Pearl
He was fired so the NCAA would go easy on UT. It was a deal cut by Mike Hamilton and the UT chancellor. I saw a memo that said if UT let him go the ncaa will let the bump violation go and take away 1 scholarship per year for 2 years. Pearl will not be able to coach for 2 years. If they kept him they would lose 2 scholarships per year for 3 years, 2 year post season ban and Pearl would not be able to coach for 2 years. I think the whole mess was handled badly by UT. Pearl made mistakes and had to answer for them. He did a lot for UT bascketball, he pretty much put UT mens basketball on the map.
Andy Katz of ESPN said the leading candidate for the position was VCU's coach, I dont know a thing about him, just he has his team in the sweet sixteen.
Hell I'm glad he got fired....he was a good recruiter and good coach and gave KY a run for their money everytime he played them....They'll have a hard time replacing him.....I sure will miss that ugly orange blazer he wore
Dang good coach! I hate to see this stuff happen but he got caught so he pays his dues. I don't think less of him because the way I see it is all coaches stretch the rules, cheat as much as they can and some get caught.
It will be someone else getting caught next year.

I don't know the answer but how often in the past has the AD of any school been terminated?
Seems like they sit back and act as an untouchable ruler and if trouble or their bad decisions blow up they just fire a minion and pound their chest.
If I were the VCU coach I would stay right where I was!!!!!!

I personally think Pearl should be banned from coaching in the NCAA ever again. First, for almost getting another school in trouble and then finding out it was all made up by Pearl when he was an assistant at a different school. Now he pulls this crap. By Bruce, go coach a JV team somewhere.

I agree that money will be a factor in those decisions. I just wouldn't make it one of mine....I would stay and enjoy the success and winning. Look what happened to the guy that went from Butler to Iowa!!!!
