I will be at C-Land from May 12th - 15th and was wondering if the night time bite has begun yet? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

pct the lake is up in the bushes which makes casting at night a nightmare, the lake is full of huge logs which makes running on plane a dicey proposition at best, and the weather is calling for another blowout tommorrow night with 1-2 inches of rain.....but may 12 is a month away so maybe it will be a little easier to fish then. ( i didnt say they arent hitting at night, i just said it is very difficult to get it done)
Wow, is it really in that bad of shape? Has the water come up much this week? Geesh, I was thinking of coming down tonight..

Yes Duayne it's been a huge mess down there all spring, too **** much rain.
It was a mess the last two years leading into May as well. I guess that means they'll have to pull all the cold water out again.. :( I was hoping to try out some of my baits I just made. Anyone know if the stripes are still relating to the banks? If so, I may make the trip anyway..

From what I'm hearing alot of small stripes are being caught during the day on live bait and casting bucktails. Not alot of keeper fish showing up. Night bite as been slow and hasn't really got started good yet from word on the street.
Andrew and I are worried that this is gonna be another year where the cold water gets run through the gates and the stripes float in numbers again. I expect wet weather in the Spring but my God the last few years around here have been freaking ridiculous.
That would be fine with me if it holds but I just read that Cumberland will have 30 MPH winds tomorrow! My goodness, I can't catch a break with my timing.. LOL
I just finished making a few Andrew knock off bucktails. This batch is much improved over the last ones. I may give it a whirl anyway. Heck, the truck is loaded...

Shoot me a private when you get back if you go. Andrew and I were threatening to go Sunday morning for bass and stripes and I may even stay and fish Monday??? But these fronts that having been rolling through has been shutting the bite down for a day or two after each one rolls through, the water levels and temps have just been a complete roller coaster ride all spring.
Will do. I'm on again off again by the minute.. LOL

I do the same thing, with these gas prices now I make darn sure I don't just go to be going, or at least try to be as informed as possible.
Wish I had something to report, but I have not hit Cumberland yet this year :(
