CLand over 710 again
I guess I'm going to miss the whole month of April. Every stinking rotten time I get ready and able to go to the lake more storms come and blow the lake out. It's now over 710 again and still rising, reports say the debris is horrible. If I'm going to drive 3 hours one way and spend 19 dollars a gallon for gas I'm gonna try and go when the lake isn't a white knuckle ride and blowed out.
This spring has totally frustrated me to the point of being almost mad about it. I know that's silly but this weather is getting sickening. Another 2 to 4 inches of rain expected this week with severe weather on top. Sorry for the vent but ENOUGH is ENOUGH.....

Re: CLand over 710 again
Debris wasn't bad at all on the lower end in Indian. Saw none Saturday morning and only a little Saturday evening and Sunday. That may change with the rise.. The fronts did seem to pull the fish to deeper water on that end from what I can tell. Probably won't take much to move them back up. That bait will end up doing it's thing one way or another.

Re: CLand over 710 again
I didn't see much debris on Thursday, either. It's high, but it was clear. I know it got some more rain over the weekend, though.

Re: CLand over 710 again
Some added notes: I was almost in heaven when I saw the water up into the grey shale shores. It's the May night bite dream. BUT, once you start casting, you find all the brush that's just under the water that has grown up since the lake has dropped. If they are busting on top, you are golden. If they are sub surface, be prepared to dip a lot of cranks out of the brush. I was able to usually work a bucktail just over it, and when it I did hang, it wasn't that tough to pull it through. But multi hook cranks like Gizz and slivers are probably going to foul up and not run right after the first crank or two. I didn't find my Gizz box until after I was done so I didn't give it a try. It may be some different type baits will be in order like traditional spinner baits.

Re: CLand over 710 again
It was 706 when I was there on Thursday and I was told before I went that the lake was trashed. Luckily, my neighbor happened to go down there the day before and told me otherwise or I might not have gone.

The lake had a few days between rains when you went, your timing was good. It's 711 right now and climbing. I just talked with a guide and said the creeks are semi decent but the main lake was completely trashed right now, and from Jamestown on up it's getting worse by the hour.

I'm not trying to contradict you, just corroborating what Duayne said about Saturday and Sunday. I'm sure it's worse now than it was late last week.

I know Michael, just giving the heads up on the now situation, no problem. Just heard from a guy that seen the Pleasant Hill area this morning and he said the confluence og Caney and Wolf is a log mine field and headed for the main lake.

Re: CLand over 710 again
So whats the weather report for the week down there. My area is supposed to have rain every day but one this week. I'm afraid if this keeps up we will have the same problem we had last year.

Same deal here, they are saying 4 inches by weeks end will be highly likely. Andrew and I were talking the other day about this being the perfect storm for killing a bunch more of the stripers and Eye's this year. Thgis weather anymore is just totally whacked...
