The west side of Lake St. Clair is giving up big numbers right now. I know a local up there who just gave me a report. He and his buddy caught 64 this past Thursday (most on traps). Said most were 3-5 pound smallies with biggest @ 5.8.

St. Clair may possibly be my favorite Lake...its truely unreal. I usually go in June/July along with Erie the past 4-5 years though I would say St. Clair has been performing much better than Erie (Western Basin). You can catch pretty much any species you can think of. SM, LM, Musky, Pike, walleye, Perch, etc. awesome fishery!
I just got back Saturday from a week long trip to LSC. This was our 3rd annual trip and it did not disappoint. It was slow to start with just 10-20 fish per day, but by Wed the water warmed up in the mid-50s and the fish started moving in for pre-spawn feeding. We caught LOTS of fish in the 3-4 lb range mixed with the occassional 5lber and 6 lber. In fact, the 3 lbers were getting a bit annoying by the end of the trip. Our thumbs were literally bleeding from lipping so many fish. I got my PB smallie on Tuesday at 5.5 lbs and then topped that on Wed with a 6.5 lber. That's how good the fishing was. A truly outstanding trip.
You guys are freaking killing me with this stuff, please stop.....I'm very sad now..:(
Your sad, hey I lived 12 miles from a great boat ramp on lake michigan, and the smallies were just taking hold when I left, but no one fished for them because of the trout and salmon.

No, but if it helps, I did shove a hook in my finger and had to push it on through and cut the barb to get it out. My buddy caught his PB smallie of 6lb 1oz 5 mins later. :)

Hey we got your back Bro, we're just jealous, bad jealous, lol....:)
This has definitely been a really tough and frustrating Spring for fishing with all the flooding and weird weather.
Here's hoping for some good water conditions and great fishing reports from everyone.
