Spinnerbaits at nite
I don't have a lot of experience throwing a spinnerbait at nite so here's the questions I have. What brands hold up the best for you? What sizes do you use? Finally which blade do you use under what conditions? Example: painted blades for no moon or nickel blades for no moon. Thanks ahead of time for your advice.

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
I love throwing spinner baits at night. I love throwing 3/8 to a 1/2 oz.
I always use nickle blades and have a very specific bait I use.
I found a combination by accident one night while fishing with a bunch of guys in a pond. I caught 4 to one over all of them. It has since proven itself over and over again. SmlJaw will vouch for this as he was one that I Whooped up on... Their hard to find now, even on line so I make my own..
I would just advise dark and nickle blade (S)

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
Will fish them some during the heat of the summer at night....Tend to mostly catch smallmouth and have found it's not so much what bait you're fishing, as it is how you're fishing it...I've stood in the boat throwing the exact same bait and gotten worn out and vice versa....I mostly fish 1/2-3/4

3/8 or 1/2 oz, black, with an oversized, deep cup colorado blade. Slow rolled.

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
I got several different color combos, but have the best luck on a 1/2oz black/red with nickel blade. Hopping it down points once the moon gets high. No problem telling when one hits it

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
Boy at night is really is hard to beat a chatterbait, Z-Man has a pro model that is a little larger and I use black and blue. I know it sounds weird but I also like a double colorado but the smaller colorado is real small and is orange boy this one catches 'em if their there.

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
I use two different set up's. I use a High Rider brand in a 1/4 oz up to a 1 oz size..depending on the mood of the fish. Now for color I use white and a black one in this brand. My big difference, is I use a 7 inch black worm as a trailer and the blade is a # 4 up to a #7 colorado. I love feelin that thump thump thump as the blade slowy turns...Hold on for dear life cause the big boys seem to hammer the tar outta this set up.... Have even caught catfish on this outfit.

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
I use a 3/8 or 1/2 single #5 or larger nickle or black colorado single spin with a black or black/blue skirt with a 3" or 4" smoke curl tail grub for a trailer. thump thump thump thump

Re: Spinnerbaits at nite
I love them!!! That is my #1 night bait. I fish it 2 ways. The first is slow roll. The 2nd is yo yo. The steeper banks I yo yo and the flats or a bank with a slope I slow roll. On drops i parallel and slow roll it.
