Creek Fishing
Today i met smashdn and we went kayak fishing. Both of us are new too this.I have only been doing it this year but being retired i've had time too work on it.I had my best day catching 50 3/4 inch limit of SM.For you anglers thats 3 fish. 18,16 3/4,16 I caught about 10 SM.Started out fast and had a limit the 1st hr.This area around Bowling Green has some great creek fishing. We both had a good time and was off the creek by noon.If anyone else would like too go just let me know.I have the time and its just getting better every day that it don't rain.

If you continue to keep those fish then they will be gone and only short fish will be left. Have a little respect and catch and release!

Re: Creek Fishing
Surely he meant that he had the legal limit and didn't keep them........Terry tell me I'm correct in that assumption!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If not I'm gonna come put a hole in your kayak.;) Taking lmb from a pond or lake is one thing, but smallies from a creek/river is not smart at all.....it takes those fish years to get big enough to be fun to catch!

Re: Creek Fishing
Listen fella.....you said you had a limit of smallies....that makes it SOUND like you are keeping them....if not just say you caught however many fish and it becomes much easier for us to understand what you mean. I'm glad you're not keeping them and so is everyone else! There is NOTHING wrong with keeping bass (smallies or largies) out of bigger lakes......or ponds that need a population check. And........you never said anything in that post about not keeping anything but white bass.

Re: Creek Fishing
A little more reading should let anybody know he didn't keep them. A limit of smallmouth would be five fish on most streams, not three. Secondly, since when did this board become the governing body for all things proper? People telling others not to post certain links, telling each other how and when they are allowed to keep fish.
Terry, if you choose to keep fish and you are within the law, then have at it. If the population starts to decline I am sure changes in the regulations will be made (see Kentucky Lake Crappie). Some of you folks need to lighten up a bit!

Yeah, so far Raincheck and Tim T are the only ones. Wow!! PETA loves this kind of crap.....dissention among fisherman and hunters alike. Could be...ya never know. I'll tell anyone, I keep several different species of fish and bass are one of 'em. I fish tourneys but every now and then I'll keep a "limit" of keepers for the table. Open for persecution and ridicule now.

Thanks Tim,the 3 fish limit i'm talking about is what the tournament trail i fish allows in less its a team which would be 4 then.2 from each team member.I'm having a blast with the SM and most are over 12inchs but in a tournament i fish over 8inchs is allowed because its all done by picture.Took 7 pictures last time out and all went back too fight another day.
