National Conceal Carry.....
I'm surprised that no one has been talking about this:

I first heard about this before I went on vacation, and figured someone else would post.
I guess NOT.
Basically, there is a push for a National Conceal Carry registry. I personally think that is a GREAT IDEA.......finally a national conceal carry permit. Something honored everywhere. Right now, it is **** near impossible with all the BS rules to carry here, KY, IN, TN, OH, and everwhere else.....I want a federal rule that supercedes EVERYTHING else. If I have the right to carry, I want that RIGHT everywhere...state parks, fed parks, USGS land, Corp Land.........everywhere.

Re: National Conceal Carry.....
If I chose to have a handgun I would definitely conceal it. I mean if you wear it out in the open it would scare innocent people and the criminals would see you wear it. I believe handguns are for protection of the innocent people from the criminals and should be concealed. But I dont want to scare children. Up hear if someone wears a gun in public it is either hunting season and they have a rifle which is fine or they are a crazy person going to shoot up a school or their work. The cops would be on him so fast it would make your head spin. I like guns.:D Something like Dirty Harry carries would be nice.

Interesting to see who honors our CCDW.
Re: National Conceal Carry.....
"The bill would require all states that allow some form of concealed carry to honor the concealed-carry licenses of other states."
I'm interpreting that to mean only the states that currently allow some form of concealed carry would apply....basically, if you allow a form of concealed carry, you have to accept another state's license. The decision to allow concealed carry, period, would still ultimately reside with the state. Right?
Not really a "national" license.
Am I reading that right?
Re: National Conceal Carry.....
Concealed carry is BS!make it lawfull to carry in the openIf the constitution says you have the right to bear arms, then a carry permit is a restriction. Its registration!A lot of guys here holler about big brother watching yuour fire arms.So you go and get a carry permit, who else gets copies? Hunting, you need a license, unless its a bow its a fire arm, and big bro knows you got it.I'm not against folks owning guns, but everyone says kooks shouldn't have the right, who determines that? Some of these law abiding gun carriers make me uneasy. My advice, buy it hide it and keep it.

There is no reason for you to be paranoid about weapons permits. If you buy a gun from a gun dealer, the gun is automatically registered at the time of purchase. That's why they ask the customers to show identification.
I bought a cheap .22 cal Marlin Carbine at Walmart to shoot groundhogs that were digging up our back lot. I had to show my ID and they registered the gun at the time of sale.
I bought a collector's Limited Edition handgun at a Gunshop and had to show my ID and have a character witness's signature. It was one of their requirements. The law required them to register the gun at the time of sale. My character witness was a State Trooper.
If you think your advice will hold water, you are about to take a bath.

What if, one day the police come knocking on your door and tell you that you bought a pistol at a flea market that has been stolen? That means you have to give up the pistol and lose the money you paid for it. Some flea market sellers are those who have bought or stolen the weapon or are fronting them for someone else who filed the serial numbers off, and are trying to dump it off on unsuspecting buyers. Others are honest sellers but how do we tell the difference? I stay away from flea markets altogether.
My husband once bought a relatively new shotgun from a man that he had known for some time and thought him to be honest. One day there was a knock on his office door and the police told him that the acquaintance had stolen the gun in a home invasion and was arrested. When questioned he told them that he sold it to my husband. He gave it to the police and it was returned to the owner.
I don't get your use of the words "Big Brother." I don't believe such a person or organization exists and it's a name that came into being while some old guys sat under an oak tree on the court house square, whittling, chewing and spitting, and telling tall tales.
I have no idea how many guns you own or why you are so afraid that someone will come into your house searching for any. I have heard that tale all of my life but have never seen, heard, or read of it happening in any city or community. It's like looking under the bed for the boogy man.
Re: National Conceal Carry.....
After last weekend I am more in favor of concealed and open carry permits. They can only be issued to law abiding citizens who have had a background check. Those are not the people we have to be concerned with.
Last Sunday morning at about 5:10 am, about 15 miles from my house, some people in a black Suburban drove up beside a SUV, at a 4-way stop, and opened fire killing a 17 year-old boy and critically injured two other passengers. When the Suburban was stopped in another county and the people inside arrested, police found 2 AK-47s that had been used in the shooting. Those people were not law abiding gun carriers but they did "buy and hide" the weapons. To each his own decision but, as for me, I choose to keep it legal and be a good law abiding citizen all the way.
Re: National Conceal Carry.....
What are y'all thinking?
The federal government doesn't have the right to impose gun laws on states. A bloated federal government is one of the biggest problems we have in the U.S.
Re: National Conceal Carry.....
I don't think it's the federal government that does that. It is done according to state laws; that's why some are open carry and some are concealed carry permits. I've forgotten the details, but doesn't Texas have a law that allows all (or most) of it's citizens to carry guns without a permit? I could see how that might be a problem in a redneck bar.
