Anybody been to Barren recently? I plan on hitting it this weekend and was wondering how tough the fishing is down there. Looking for any reports, advice, etc. Thanks.

plenty of fish to be had just hard to find a spot to fish
alot of big tourneys this weekend just as a guess id say there should be 250 plus boats on the lake at any givin time
next it will be tough to get anyone to give up any info right now cause everyone is pre-fishin
but if you must try it pick ur favorite way to fish an stick with it it will pay off
or come fish our open club tourney at the state dock 7 till 3 $35 per person
$2500 pay out

And I would come fish the tournament this weekend, however I have something planned that afternoon and will have to be off the water by 1. Thanks for the invitation though, I will definitely be in on some of these tourneys in the near future.
I can't hang with no BFL guys so I'm not going to waste my coin. I'm going to keep track of what I catch (if any LOL) and see how I would have done.;)
Went to check on the hybrids a couple of hours before dark, near the dam. Caught a 3.5 LM on a tube 20-25ft deep and a short fish up shallower, while waiting on hybrid jumps which never happened. Guess the hybrid jumps are mostly over. Missed another good fish that blew up on a popR along a bluff. Lake looks to be turning over near the dam.
I'd say you'll probably need to fish deeper, with finesse baits near the dam, but can probably catch them shallow up the river or creeks.
Looked to be about 75 rigs in the parking lot at the dam. Hope you regional guys who have come down here enjoy your time here, and catch a lot of fish.
I'm not lookin for any info from the ppl pre fishin down at Barren this week. What I am mainly looking for is, have the fished moved back into the creeks? Are they shallow yet? Deep? I can figure baits out on my own. Just would like some advice to have a gameplan together before I hit the water.
A lot of fish have moved into the creeks and bays----tons of baitfish there and so are the bass. Sometimes really shallow on lipless baits.... other times 6-12' on the creek channel ledges on shakeyhead. Good luck

i know two small tournys last weekend were both won that way. one had 13.5# the was15.75#
