Welcome to the board, I to was thinking the same thing when I saw a mess of mushrooms come up where a round bale had been. I found the answer on page 3 of the hunting board. Check it out and again welcome . Chuck

That post on page 3 about morels was from 2011 fellas. It pays to check your dates. However I'm sure that some are up. I think I will go looking this afternoon.

Yes I had remembered it from last year, Figured it woudn't be much different from this year except possibly a little earlier due to the warmer weather.
i know a lady in battletown that found three yesterday,
So what are the best areas to look for them? Are they in hardwood bottoms or on hillsides? I have looked for them but never found in that I know of.

My son and I went to the pond today and we got them all over us! Check out good boys because the grass wasnt tall at all.
We have found 5-6 messes of them. Biggest being 30. They aren't going to last long with the weather as hot as it is..
We found all of ours in Allen County.
I find mine all over. But I mainly look for shag bark hickory trees. Seems like I have my best luck around them. And yea I noticed the dates were from last year. Not what I was looking for but still a good reference thanks
