Unidentified object
My boy and I were fishing on Dale Hollow Monday night and around 12 midnight or maybe a little later we spotted this object moving with great speed across the sky. Just wondering if anyone else might have spotted it? To us it looked as if though it had a fire trailing it and looked as if though it could have had a trail of exaust across the sky behind it. The last time I seen something like that was years ago my cousin and I were just about to get into Clewiston, Fl on RT 27 in the early hours of the morning and we found out later that day they had lift off at Cape Canaveral. But this thing was moving a whole lot faster then the shuttle.

Re: Unidentified object
There were some metior showers recently. One evening I saw one that really had a long bright orange glow trailing it as it streaked across the sky. It may have been that.

Re: Unidentified object
Definitely was not drinking........... And I have seen quite a few metiors when out on the lake but this I am pretty sure was not one. I was hoping someone else might have got a look at because it look like to me, at least I think it could have been, but surely not for sure a MISSILE! OH BOY..........

Re: Unidentified object
The meteor I saw a couple of weeks ago was unlike any other I have ever seen. It stayed in the sky much longer than usual and had a bright orange trail. I thought it sounded a little like what you described, but what I saw was clearly a meteor, or meteorite type.

Maybe it was the same SLP but if it was I have never seen one like it before. It was moving at a stright line not like it was falling out of the sky toward the earth. This thing did not burn out like a meteor does it just went out of site while watching it.

Re: Unidentified object
I saw on Yahoo or some other site today that a meteor the size of a bus narrowly missed us the other day. Maybe that's what you saw. Or not.

Re: Unidentified object
I live west of Dale Hollow on the KY/TN line and was just getting home Monday night about 10 PM. Looked up and saw a meteor pass overhead it was pretty bright. I did not see a tail but it burnt out before it reached the horizon.

The one we saw was probably around 1 am.
