My Mom and sister had to put their Great Dane down a month ago and have a new pup joining the family tomorrow.
They asked me for some suggestions on names and were interested in fishing, hunting or outdoor type names.
Interesting that the breeder is Remington Great Danes because that would be a cool name.
Any help would be appreciated and the new Dane is a Male. Thanks!
My uncle's lab is named Remington, or "Rem" for short...duck hunts with him.
hate to hear that about your moms dog, I had an English bulldog I had to do that way 5 years ago. I didn't think I could ever care for another dog after that. but I have a wonderful little friend once again. and your mother will be fine after some time passes with the new addition to the family. and as for the name, I fish from a Nitro boat. so how about Nitro for a male dog name.
How about "Texas Rigged Hook Some Bass Watermelon Red Baby Brush Hound" or TRHSBWRBBH for short.

I pretty much figured the same names so far.....not all but most. She likes Winston, Norman and Skeeter but who knows?? Naming a dog is best after a little time with it.

Not much else to add here...looks like the guys have most names covered....I guess you could look up some of the names mentioned and see what they are in Spanish, French, Italian, German, etc..My wife is looking into getting a 3 year old dog that is named Sa Boom...I aksed her if she gets it will she change the name...she said no. I asked what the heck, why would anyone name their dog Sa Boom...she said it was french for The Bomb.
Long story short...I still don't see why someone would name their dog Sa Boom. lol...

That's what I call my daughter's dog. Her name is Camo, but she answers me fine.
I tried Google translate for some Danish words relating to outdoors stuff. Didn't come up with anything that sounded like a good dog name, but you might try that yourself. Just an idea...

I like Skeeter best and for this reason. People usually treat a dog better or worse according to his name. For instance, Killer or Boomer is automatically assumed to be a bad dog and friends and strangers aren't as kind to them. Winston and Norman also seem appropriate for that breed of dog. He's going to be a big boy and doesn't need any wimpy names. lol
My big 'bad' dogs are 9 month-old brother and sister who are 10 and 8 pounds respectively, Shinese partners in crime. Their names are Spanky and Molly but I think, if I had waited to name them, their names would probably have been Bonnie and Clyde.
My 12 pound terrier/chihuahua mix is named "Brutus"....true story...
