UK/UL
Well guys its less than a week away and we dont have a thread on it yet. I think ul gets out to a fast start and its never a close game. Im taking ul by 18
I was at the uk/marshall game yesterday and wasnt impressed with uk at all. I was glad to see my cats get the w but they dont belong with upper echelon of teams and ul does
I constantly hear talk of how rude and mean we uk fans are, and i must say i was impressed yesterday. There were a few spotty marshall fans in the crowd and inever saw them get treated with anything but respect, even when theyd stand up to cheer when the game was close

I agree even though I am a UK fan I think this game is going to get ugly quick and only get worse as the game goes on. I dont look for UL to quit running until the end of the game no matter how much they are ahead. Now that being said I will still be cheering for the cats but I dont have much hope.

Lets hope no one gets hurt........rivalry games are fine and dandy, but when the game spills over to personal grudges, that is when they need to stop.
While I loved the IU/UK game, and I hate the way it ended, there have been cases on both sides of that rivalry that makes me think it may not be the greatest for basketball.
I will be watching the game, but really don't have a dog in the fight. I think UL will win, but UK is not going to give it to them.....
Later,

I will be completely honest at the risk of sounding cocky, but I truly believe that AT THIS MOMENT Louisville is the best team in the country. They may not be by the end of the season -although I certainly like their chances- Right now they look great and i can't wait to see what happens when Deing gets back. All that being said, I will take the Cards by 9.
I know they are better right now, but I have seen to many bizarre things happen in this rivalry. Two that stick out are when the cards beat the cats in Rupp during the 97-98 season. Louisville went on to only win 12 games the entire season while UK won the NCAA title. The asecond one is a few years ago. Louisville ends up winning both Big East regular season and tournament titles. Were ranked #1 at the end of the year and was the #1 overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. That team needed a last second three-pointer to win the game in Freedom Hall. I say Cards 81-72.

Louisville by 8.
And that's all I have to say about that.
-
Ville by 18 and that's with them cruising and not running the score up.
-
Back and forth game UofL by 4.
-
I think Louisville wins this game by 12, but I think Kentucky will go father in the tournament.
-
Louisville wins but it is a battle. Refs play a role in this game as Calipari and the UK fan base have been lobbying about fouls for three weeks. According to the UK fan base and Calipari Louisville fouls at least 5 times on every defensive trip down the floor, lol.
Louisville by 8 and they better hit from the three point line to do it. Eraser head doesn't have much of a offensive game but he is great with in the paint defense. Also there is NO place for a hair cut like that in college basketball, lol... Calipari and Pitino both are anti-gun, almost all east coast yankee's are, they are taught that from birth. The east coast is as liberal as it gets, it is what it is.
-
I will be rooting for my Cats but no amount of rooting can help UK won this game. Cards by 20 and that is only IF Pitino puts it on cruise control the last 10 mins of the game.

Dieng WILL play saturday. Things went from looking bad to awful for us uk fans. Im glad he'll be playing in case theres an upset it will be at full strength

Wow...this turned out to be a great game to watch. I really didn't expect UK to be in it, but we were. When we were down by 17, I thought it was over, but the Cats battled back like I haven't really seen this group battle since we played Duke in Atlanta.
Free throw shooting really killed us...badly. I thought the foul situation was called pretty evenly, though the no-call on Dieng late when he yanked Noel down by the arm hurt us.
Louisville is fast, athletic, and experienced - A Final Four team from last year, still together. Dieng, Blackshear, and Behanan are beasts...Siva is excellent at times, but had a few of his bonehead moments today too. I think this Louisville team has as good a shot at winning a title as any Louisville squad in recent memory. Their defense is smothering at times.
I hate losing a rivalry game as bad as anyone...especially after already dropping a close one to Duke in November...but I was happy to see UK in this one. Our group is just missing something this year, especially compared to what we had last season, so to lose by 3 on the road to a #3 ranked Louisville squad is a "moral victory" I reckon.
I'm just hoping we continue to get better, do well in the SEC, and can show a little in March.
Congrats, my Cardinal friends. Fun game.
