Sitting here debating on whether or not I should head up to deam lake and use some minnows/crickets and try to catch some bluegill and crappie. I dont have a boat, but I have a nice spot I go to that is right at the boat launch ramp off to the left. Most all of my gear is ready, but I just dont know if its gonna be worth the drive up from charlestown.
Decided to give it a shot, I still have a ton of minnows alive in my bucket so im about to walk out the door and give it a shot for some crappie and bluegill. I will post a report for everyone when I get back.
I will be fishing at the boat ramp, off to the left on that little peninsula that runs next to it. The left side is fairly deep and has always given me some nice size bluegill and a few catfish. Never tried to winter fish there, but I am hoping I can catch some nice crappie or big bluegill to put on the plate tonight and a few in the freezer.
Skunked.....
Live minnows, chartreuse ice jig with bobber. tried 4-11ft depth of bait. Left of boat ramp and also tried the dam that you drive over when you first enter the park. Tried to fish nothing but cover, ie: trees down in water, stumps. Didn't get a single bite at either locations.
You got out, that beats sitting on the couch. Anyday outside is a good one.
Nice report. I'm sorry you were skunked but I like an honest fishing report,good or bad on the catching. I tend to report only when I catch fish. From now on I'll report good or bad.
Great report! I got skunked already this year myself. Slow start is fine, as long as we finish well.

It is a VERY GOOD boat.....would make a fantastic starter boat for anyone here.

A friend has a 14ft aluminum john boat with a 25hp motor and trailer that ive been considering buying. Cant beat 500 bucks for it.
