Please ID this fish
For years Wikipedia and I have fished with the misconception that all rock bass have red eyes. After coming home today and trying to ID this little fellar I have learned that is not true.
I do want to be sure of what it is so if you know for sure or even just a strong opinion, fire away.

From that picture, my guess would be a Green Sunfish.

Check out wire2fish article about stocking green sunfish/ bluegill hybrids. Wow those suckers get big!
-
T-ville lake is full of them
-
Most of you may consider them bait. They are however a blast to catch on an ultra light rod and reel. The state record is 2.5 pounds in TN and I bet it was an epic battle to net the rascal.
While I was looking at records I saw the KY one for a bluegill is over 4 pounds. That had to be a serious battle also.
warmouth
Nah, Joey .... it's a Green Sunfish. Warmouths don't have the black pigmentation spot on the dorsal fin.
Warmouths & Rockbass do get confused with each other, though !!!
