A staff of Bear Bryant, Woody Hayes, Vince Lombardi, Nick Saban, with Jesus Christ as special teams coordinator couldn't win with the mess of "talent" leftover from the Joker experiment.

It takes time for any new coach, even more so for one without HC experience. I've written off this season before it started, to let Stoops (1) learn, (2) get his recruits on campus, (3) build his system.

That's what you get with a first time head coach. Like Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part.

Western was a decent team last year and still is this year. Petrino is also a proven great coach. I wouldn't want him to date my daughter, but he can coach a football team. I'm happy for them. Also, their chrome helmets may be the most bad-ass gear that I've ever seen on a football field.

Apologies on behalf of the Big Blue Nation for any smack talk from any Cat fan regarding Football. A Cat fan talking smack about football at this point should have their head examined.

2 wins, maybe 3, at best.

I discovered last night that if you drink enough margaritas, you can actually enjoy watching Kentucky **** at football. I had a GRAND time with the loss.

Yes those helmets were bad. I thought Joker had some good recruiting classes. Either way he needs 4 years. Margaritas are the answer to a lot of problems.

Because talent isn't measured solely by the number of stars on somebody's recruiting rankings or natural physical ability alone. Desire matters. Heart matters. Will to win matters. Attitude matters. Ability to control your nerves and execute what coach has laid out for you matters.

Factor all that in, Western most certainly had more talent on the field than Kentucky did last night, or they wouldn't have won.

I for one am like Brian in that I could not believe all the hype UK has been getting because of this Stoops guy. Is he a good coach.....nobody knows yet. Was he gonna win right out of the gate with this band of misfits................Uhhhh NO. Nobody was and why on God's green earth everybody thought he was blows my weak mind.

Matt Jones and the likes blew this up and got the fans all in a lather, be realistic for Gosh's sake.

I am excited for my friends who are UK football fans. The last years of Joker were terrible and they needed some uhhhh "hope and change"....
The hype is great for the game and I really hope Stoops stays long enough to have his chance. That being said.....the few knuckleheads I overheard talking about the UK schedule and potential record this year were delusional. Of course you get a few beers in a man before the first kickoff and you can understand his optimism......hahaha. As the game goes on you can see reality set in.
