Only 3 caught since 2000. I wonder if there's still a 9# swimming in Dale at this point.

Thanks that was a cool link. Man I hope I get a pig like that before I die, I'm sure trying and wish I had more time to do it....

Billy Westmoreland on there THREE times, he in his life forgot more about catching Smallmouth than most men will ever know.

Dale took a big hit with that fish kill last year. I just wonder how long it will take to recover?

I know i wont be making the hour drive to dale nearly as often this winter unless things pick up drastically

It is pretty cool that 10 of those catches came out of dale though.

I have 6 trips to KY and 5 trips to Dale scheduled before Christmas. I will STILL fish Dale in the winter.

I dont blame ya a bit. The late november ky lake bite is always a lot of fun and even just a few smallies from dale would be worth it

Which way do you go to get there in an hour from Campbellsville?

Through columbia into burkesville. Usually there before daylight so no traffic to deal with. At the ramp in an hour to an hour and ten minutes

The Columbia bypass and the Hwy. 61 rebuild really shortened the trip to Burkesville. Watch out for the deer through there.

I studied this list in regards to moon phase and such a couple of years ago. The Hayes fish is a freak and you really don't know how big it is until you hold the mount in person. That being said, probably even a bigger freak of a Smallie is #8 out of Ontario. With the growing season so short in Canada a 9.8 pounder is HUGE!!!! As far as the next World Record goes, it will come out of one of the deep Clear lakes in California that has Trout stocked annually. Basically, Dale Hollow with an unlimited growing season.

I have fished that Birch Lake in Ontario quite a few times. I've even used Anderson Outfitters ( Mark Anderson is their son). I've talked to him a few times about it.......Cool CAT.

    AND a great, GREAT fish.
