    Bar Fight!

It's been years since I been around a bar fight but tonight was the night to be reminded of how silly things around drunk guys and gals can get taken serious.

We had been shooting some pool and drinking a few beers and having a great time for an hour or so and decided to leave because it was getting late. We all walked outside and was shooting the breeze and I see one of my buddies get punched in the face by some old guy and I ran over there to stop it. Well the old guy is feeling pretty proud of himself and feeling ten feet tall now that he punched a drunk guy in the head so he is coming at my buddy while I'm being the buffer asking him to relax and that its ok I'll take him home...about that time another guy comes at us and I'm telling him the same thing and he looks me dead in the eye and says ok but he called me a bitch!!

I'm kinda laughing and said its cool my buddy is drunk it's cool....5 minutes pass and everyone is gathering because this was the second fight that night the other one was some girls getting into it when all of a sudden it starts again!!! This time me and my second buddy have to try and stop it along with the bartender and my drunk buddy takes another punch (he never learned that stopping a punch with your face was what you avoid) and we are moving fast across the parking lot pushing and dragging him so he doesn't get killed while this drunk chic was coming at us.....She kept screaming about how tough she was and so was her crew...crew??? What are we in an episode of gangland???

We had enough at that point so we became a little more stern with our comments and they backed off. The old dude was a short skinny drunk man and his buddy was a short stocky Mexican guy but he had more sense than anyone else there.....or he wasn't as drunk. I wasn't buzzed at all which helped because I understood what was going on without causing more trouble. So the damage report was a few punches stopped incorrectly with a face and ALOT of screaming from a drunk woman.

Ohhhhh....plus we were told to leave by the bartender and not to come back if we acted like that......I may need new friends!!!! Lol naw just kidding...I'll watch their back but they better be careful because fist fighting is one thing but guns and knives are usually just a few steps away from some of these drunk folks and that's a potential for disaster!!!!! Interesting night!!!!

I think many of us have been there a time or two...either trying to break one up or trying to stop punches with a face. lol

It's always more about somebody being drunk than anything else. Then there's always that one guy nobody knows, who has nothing to do with any of it, who just jumps in because he owns a VHS copy of the movie "Roadhouse" and likes to fight.

And a drunk chick...usually always a drunk chick with a loud mouth full of teeth that you really wish some other chick would scatter on the ground like chicklets...because you can't hit a girl.

Last one I had any involvement in was in a bar in Austin Texas. There was a lady in our group who was, shall we say, pretty dang attractive. Douchebags were circling like sharks. Some drunk guy got all up on her, said some pretty nasty crap, and another drunk guy in our group told him to back off. The douchebag informed our guy that he was a "Texas State Senator, bro" and that this little American flag pin on his jacket gave him the "authorization to say whatever he wanted to this lady, bro." It was comical really, but escalated quick. I had a bottle in my hand and ended up having to run blocker to stop the meathead over in the corner who had nothing to do with it but just wanted to fight.

    Good times!

Dang it Don I knew you was trouble the first time I met you, LOL....
Great story, chit happens sometimes, you did well to disfuse the situation and cooler heads prevailed. I'm surprised the PoPo didn't show up, Ouch...

    Funny story to read, lol...

Hahaha maybe they didn't like me running that pool table a few times?? I bet the Police would have taken their time because this bar is a little rough at times and they prolly say to themselves, "man again?? We were there last night!!"....not long ago it was the local Biker bar and had issues.
I think like any bar if your not crazy drunk you can go and have fun with no issues but you know how it goes....someone gets poopyfaced and the evening gets exciting!

So now the pool shark business comes out eh? I knew we weren't getting the full story.

Seems there's always a chain reaction.

Back when I was in the Navy me and a buddy broke up a very uneven fight at closing time at the EM club. All of a sudden another guy runs up and pops my bud in the nose. Without even thinking I put one in that dude's jaw and his lantern goes out. Next thing I know I'm trying to dodge boot stomps from yet another guy who downed me with a shot to the back of the head. Fortunately for me, the Shore Patrol showed up and broke it up before the guy could stomp my head flat.

Thats why I quit going to bars. Same thing kept happening, people get a little too full of that ol' liquid courage.
