Fished nolin this past weekend. The coe are begining to drop the lake about a inch a day now. oct 15 is the day i believe they really open the dam. lake Had a little color to it but not much.Friday evening I bass fished and picked up several small fish. fishing with crankbaits in water 15 ft and up. Largest fish may have been about 2 pounds. Saturday morning I fished shallow with some topwater lures with no luck. Again tossed out a crankbait and caught a few small fish by 11 o'clock the bite had died off so I switched to fishing jig and picked up a 3 pounder. Turned out to be the biggest fish of weekend. Did not fish Saturday evening I hung around the camp and relaxed a little. Sunday morning I crappie fished a few of my stakebeds. The fish were holding tight to the coverage. I ended up having to vertical jig some of the spots. Lots of short fish in the 8 3/4 range and 7 keepers was the final result. I had a good time no monsters by no means but lots of fish got boated. Crappie fishing hasn't been very productive since the spring spawn. Overall good weekend

Yeah we fished Sat evening at a spot we have been doing OK , fished shad rap #5 and caught a few no big ones . They wouldn't touch a worm which is hard to believe , I ALWAYS CATCH FISH on the texas rigged worm .Then we fished sun morning and my buddy got a big white bass and that is it !

The corps is pulling the lake a little different this year , they are not pulling the plug until Oct 20th versus Oct 15th which is when they usually pull it . During that time the Bass turn on , find a rock bank and fish a rebel crawdad crankbait and you will have a blast and PAC Craw will work too but I like the rebel better

How and where did you find out this information. Do you know why they are delaying.

Man them rebel craw dads in the fall wear out them fish. I wonder why the changed the date on drawing the lake down. Regardless i believe November will be great down there. I'd really like to find them white bass down there it's been a struggle down there all summer trying to find them

Watch for eagles too. I saw two fishing while I did the same Tuesday. One was in the bay at the mouth of Connoloway creek' and one was in the bay just above Ponderosa. Fishing wise, a chrome spook was catch bass from the bank to 20 feet out.

Back from fishing and not much to tell. Did not see any eagles but did see a 3 legged deer. Caught 35 fish and only 1 keeper in 2 days of fishing. Only report a have is find the shad.

Fished nolin this morning around canaloway. Only managed 5 little bass. Nothing over 12". Started at mouth of the creek and then worked my way back. Caught all my fish midway back in the creeks. Clarity was very good and water was probably about mid 70s. Had jumps everywhere around me but couldn't get them to bite a topwater

Just got back from Nolin and never put a keeper in the boat. That's bad enough but as I was getting the boat ready to come home the local sheriff said the only ramp that will be open after Sunday will be the state park ramp. Man that will be a fun place next weekend!
