good video geo. makes a lot of sense I have been releasing the bigger fish I catch where in my past I had not as much. biggest reason for me wanting to turn the bigger fish back is my grd kids I really want them to injoy and to fall in love with the best sport on earth (fishing:-) and be proud of what they had caught.

Thanks for the video. Again, the larger fish control the population dynamics between prey and predator. If you take too many big fish, the smaller, less desirable species become dominate. You must have the bigger fish to control desirable fish populations. Harvest of the larger fish depends upon two things. What are the fishery goals and how productive is the fishery. One goal you must have is good numbers of all size ranges, fingerlings to adult fish. That is why creel studies are so important. The amount of fertility determines the harvest. It is highly recommended harvesting no more than 15 to 20 pounds of adult fish per surface acre. However, again it all depends upon lake productivity. One thing to note clear water is less productive than fertile green water for obvious reasons. As the video indicates, the fish you harvest will at some point in the future determine the size of the fish that remain. Once you know the dominant species you want, then you can manage the fish populations to that goal.

Oh it hurts since it made me think. That is actually some pretty advanced thinking that deserves some serious consideration.
