After high school and trade school I worked full time and held part time jobs at the same time until I was 54 years of age and was hardly able to walk do to illness and had came down with Poly Neuropathy, Carpal Tunnel syndrome and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I worked my ass off for years sir. I paid taxes and part of the money I paid in went towards Social Security benefits Which I am now drawing.

I have a cousin who was badly injured in an auto accident and left blind and is hardly able to walk today and suffers with a brain injury.

I set back here and read things that others post about the disabled and it make me sick. I do feel that there is a lot of folks that should not be drawing these benefits. But there is a lot of us who do. I loved my job and miss it daily.

I am thinkful for you and all others who have served and are serving in our militery.

Now if you want to see a bunch of undeserving folks draw something just look at our illeagals. Those are the folks who are driving up our medical cost. We need to put a cap on our budget, stop sending our money over seas and start cutting waste here at home while sealing off our boarders and send the illegles back where they belong. We need changes in our government. Both parties have become courpted.

    Pissed!
Go AHEAD and be pissed............So what.

You're collecting disability for a disability. Good for you......For every supposedly "disabled" person, I can show you 10 that get along perfectly fine and could do many, MANY types of work.

Hell I know more disabled people hitting the lakes every weekend than I can shake a stick at.

Personal story now. I come from a LONG LINE of UAW workers. And for years, they'd try to figure out how to game the system. The "best" gaming I ever saw was an aunt that worked over her head in a factory, putting in screws. She claimed carpal and some other "motor" function disabilities.........SHE could not do her job, but she could explain to me, WHILE FISHING for days on end how she was disabled.

    SCREW THAT.

I'm sorry your disabled, but like I said before......for every legitimate disability, there are 10 that are not.

    Later,

    Geo

Geo no where did I or you read in Dave's statement (not getting them early from some disability). the first word said about the people who are committing fraud on the american people. Which I despise.

I wish I could fish like the lady you speak of. If I could I would still be working.

    Clarification

For the record: It was not my intent to throw stones at anyone that is disabled. My point was that there are a large number of us retired military that are not disabled and still able to function as soldiers and are trained to do so. Having re read my post, I can see where you may have taken my comments to mean I was throwing rocks at folks who draw SS Disability Benefits before normal retirement age....my actual intent was that if you are drawing SS Disability benefits or Military Disablity, then I would consider you not combat functional.

As for fraud in the SS and Military Disability funding...that is another topic.

One thing about Discussion Board Posts.....they are like emails in that two people can read an email or Discussion Board post and read two different meanings....again my intention was not to throw rocks at anyone disabled.
