    Obama Care

Has it occurred to anyone to ask what happens to your insurance in case of another government shutdown? If the government shuts down will this program be deemed essential and allowed to operate? Will it be shut down so that doctors and hospitals will not be paid? Would this program be allowed to operate without any oversight in case of another shutdown?

As inefficient as the government is when it is operating, as full of waste and/or fraud as investigations have shown some departments/programs to be (IRS for example), what will happen within this program if they manage to find the almost unlimited funds required to keep it to operating? Just some things to consider.

Exactly......I did post about this a week ago because it's the thing not being talked about and it's obvious what will happen one day. Here we are watching incompetent boobs fight over something that was shoved down the throats of voters with lies and deceit and it is causing troubles like this before it's even fully operational. The gubment is shutdown and many other gubmnet programs are either hurting or will be hurt. People don't see that healthcare will be added to that list of programs that will be hurt?? No, most don't because they are convinced that it's the best thing out there because their hero's told them it is when in fact it was not even read before it was passed. It's an open checkbook in front of a Dem party and Dem potus who don't like budgets and have raised our national debt to levels never imagined.....what can go wrong with that???

I think that healthcare was the last major grab by the gubment because with it under its wing they control the voters by intimidation. If someone can't see that they are blind, stupid or both. Big gubment needs big money so they can waste money, redistribute wealth to the people leeching off the gubment and for the legit folks receiving funds.

Fast forward 10 years in this country with obamacare. National debt 30 trillion, gubment shutdown will be a joke because it can't!! If it did we will have limited healthcare, limited postal service, limited defense spending, limited Medicare, General Motors will close, limited social security plus the borders will be wide open....Hahahahaha sorry the borders will always be open.

I dont think this shut down is helping me one bit since i have worked since october 1st for an I owe You and funny thing is the bill collectors dont take i owe you's. I got enough put back to make it thru but this whole deal ***** since i am an excepted employee i have to work cause we cant just lock the gates behind us as we leave. I hate it for the whole country. I never thought i would see the day that the United States of America could not pay me my wages that i earned. See i work at a Federal Prison and havign been working essentially for free adn this week i am only going to get a half a pay check due to the way the pay periods fall. Both republicans and democrats need to get their crap together and work to find a bi partisan agreement.

    Common Sense

Yep our politicians are not working for us. Anyone with common sense can see that. They are being paid to carry out the business of the American people. It appears that it is a requirement that politicians common sense gets surgically removed as soon as they are elected to office. If they cannot figure out a budget, they are not doing a big part of their job. If they are not capable of reading and analyzing bills put before them before passing them, they are not doing their job. And finally if they cannot add, subtract, and read, they all, regardless of party affiliations, need to be someplace other than Washington D.C.

There are roughly 1.4 million military retirees from the enlisted ranks and 500,000 from the officer ranks. This does not include any early disabled retirees. If the government defaults, the retirement checks stop as does social security checks. Most military retirees count on these checks to be able to survive financially including myself. We paid our dues to earn the retirement checks to keep this country safe. We paid for our Social Secuity as did all Americans drawing the checks after reaching retirement age (not getting them early from some disability). This means there are nearly 2 million of us in this country that are trained in combat, that are not disabled that the government is getting ready to default on our livelihood...how long do you think it will take before we are fed up when the checks stop.

Makes me question why is it that we hear of veterans benefits and social security being cut and nothing on welfare?? Foreign Aid? Living without is living without and to me a pecking order should be in place. If your getting welfare your money is cut first. Political office holders should also be hit prior to vets and social security. Veterans and social security should be touched last as a form of respect. Jmo.

I take offence sir on the part about getting a disability check early. First of all folks I started working when I was 16 while still going to school. I worked while school was out for summer break. I also worked on our farm while going to school. After high school and trade school I worked full time and held part time jobs at the same time until I was 54 years of age and was hardly able to walk do to illness and had came down with Poly Neuropathy, Carpal Tunnel syndrome and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. I worked my ass off for years sir. I paid taxes and part of the money I paid in went towards Social Security benefits Which I am now drawing.

I have a cousin who was badly injured in an auto accident and left blind and is hardly able to walk today and suffers with a brain injury.

I set back here and read things that others post about the disabled and it make me sick. I do feel that there is a lot of folks that should not be drawing these benefits. But there is a lot of us who do. I loved my job and miss it daily.

I am thinkful for you and all others who have served and are serving in our militery.

Now if you want to see a bunch of undeserving folks draw something just look at our illeagals. Those are the folks who are driving up our medical cost. We need to put a cap on our budget, stop sending our money over seas and start cutting waste here at home while sealing off our boarders and send the illegles back where they belong. We need changes in our government. Both parties have become courpted.

It does seem to me the folks who are truly disabled are looked upon as some kind of second class citizens by a good many on the right.

I didn't really take Dave's post as knocking those who get disability for legitimate reasons.

I took it as knocking the large number of people who draw disability checks for completely fabricated and BS reasons. There is no question that plenty draw disability checks in that bucket of people.

Those with a real disability have nothing to be ashamed of. You paid your dues too...and that's why disability is there.

My Grandfather was literally carried off the job site by his crew at age 59 with near paralysis from a lifetime on a bulldozer in the Army, Corps of Engineers, and Civilian. He paid his dues. He drew disability for a few years. No shame at all in that man.

    Dave had said.

I understand exactly what Dave wrote. He made it very plain.

Wow!!!! What proof do you have of that?? To hear this from you shocks me. I really thought you had more common sense....I'm serious. The vicious, low class stuff that comes from he left is totally off the charts. Look at the left that made fun of Sarah Palins child with downs.
I have several friends with disabled (downs) kids or autistic kids and quite frankly it pisses me off for you to say that. I mean really??? You can say that?? Who on here would pick on a true disabled person?? Not me, not you, not anyone I think I know on here.
I'm guessing it's because we question the wasteful ways of gubment spending without being specific to who we are talking about? It surely can't be the millions of right wing church going people who volunteer their time to help and feed the needy, disabled and homeless or the benefit tournaments for disabled vets?? They swarmed Louisiana to help after Katrina. How do I know? I helped load trucks with water and watched my boss spend his time and money. He has a mildly retarded son who I gave fishing equipment to anytime I won stuff like cheap rods and reels and tackle. These are just a few groups of people who get categorized by people on the left as rednecks or extremists. Are these some of the people you mean???

Go AHEAD and be pissed............So what.

You're collecting disability for a disability. Good for you......For every supposedly "disabled" person, I can show you 10 that get along perfectly fine and could do many, MANY types of work.

Hell I know more disabled people hitting the lakes every weekend than I can shake a stick at.

Personal story now. I come from a LONG LINE of UAW workers. And for years, they'd try to figure out how to game the system. The "best" gaming I ever saw was an aunt that worked over her head in a factory, putting in screws. She claimed carpal and some other "motor" function disabilities.........SHE could not do her job, but she could explain to me, WHILE FISHING for days on end how she was disabled.

    SCREW THAT.

I'm sorry your disabled, but like I said before......for every legitimate disability, there are 10 that are not.

    Later,

    Geo
