I have seen the lids and they look silly as hell......as for this dufus changing things...that's what you do when your a joke, misfit, poser and a fantastic liar. Toss "flack" up in the air so people target that while your minions are working behind the scene on stuff that's gets passed in the midnight hour. Example....obamacare! The next thing is amnesty for millions of illegals....gotta buy the votes for the next election!! This amnesty will happen so they can try to get a woman as potus and Please Lord don't let it be Hillary!!!! It is asinine that we're even having this discussion at a price tag of $8 Million. There is no need and no sense behind changing a hat style that has been fine since 1922.

My God, the government must just sit around and see what kind of pointless crap they can come up with to spend money on.

I know that $8 Million isn't much money in reality when you are talking about budget, but I **** sure know that it could be put to better use than changing the Marine Corp uniform.

Well lets look at it another way!

I see a new hat that I like but I don't have enough money to buy it because I have no money in the bank and my credit card is maxed out. I need new boots but I like that hat. I think what to hell. I have my grandson's credit card in my pocket. So with NO REGARDS to my grandson I put the hat on his card and make him pay for the hat that I did not even need!

I'm happy that I saw this post because now I know that it was not wrong to buy my new hat. I hope that my grandson will understand I am now on my way to the shoe store.

That's what counts! I started out olive drab "ike" jackets and cardavan boots. I cant use the name we called the hats. Then it was black boots, a lot of guys needed to buy them, because while dyed boots were legal, they were sort of frowned upon,Then it was fatique hats. The issue ones didn't look "sharp" so you bought your own. I doubt the pres. had much to do with those changes.

There's a big story getting passed around in military circles and beyond from The New York Post that President Obama wants the Marines to start wearing 'girly' caps.The Post writer, Jeane MacIntosh, writes of a "plan by President Obama to create a 'unisex' look for the Corps, officials are on the verge of swapping out the Marines’ iconic caps – known as 'covers' — with a new version that some have derided as so 'girly' that they would make the French blush."
As a Marine veteran who knows how these changes actually happen, I can tell you the story is 100% B.S. The bottom line: The President doesn't involve himself in what troops happen to be wearing.
But just to make sure, I called Headquarters Marine Corps and a spokesperson confirmed that the process for making changes to Marine uniforms hasn't changed since I last left the service in 2010.
Every year, a board (made up of senior enlisted Marines) meets and goes over things that they may want to change with uniforms. In 2007 for example, the board made a change that outlawed "sleeve" tattoos — and I don't remember thinking that was all President George W. Bush's fault.
"The President in no way, shape, or form directed the Marine Corps to change our uniform cover," said Capt. Maureen Krebs, a spokesperson for the Marine Corps. "We're looking for a new cover for our female Marines for the primary reason that the former manufacturer went out of business. The Marine Corps has zero intention of changing the male cover."
If there's someone to blame about a change in a uniform, the buck would stop at Marine Commandant Gen. James Amos, who has the final say.
To clarify, I made sure to ask whether President Obama had suddenly joined the uniform board of the Marine Corps.
"Not that I know of, but that would certainly be newsworthy," Krebs said.
There's plenty of things to nitpick with the Obama administration, but this isn't even close to one of them.

I guess this is just one more reason the right wing is behind the eight ball, instead of grabbing at just any straw they can find to try and discredit the president (who is there for a few more years regardless of what they would like to happen) they need to figure out how to dump the so called (tea party) and put their house back in order.
