I haven't had her near the lake yet, she can't be still, always at play. I had an english bulldog before I got the little shih-tzu and the english could swim fair, but she got tired easy.

I remember reading that pugs have little feet compared to their body muscle and they can't generate the lift needed to stay afloat. My buddy maxx doesn't have that problem. being a Black Lab he swims fast. I raced him at Cave Run Lake last year and I dog paddled like him and we were neck and neck for a bit. He is great we would swim across coves and relax and then go to another point. He's like a kid always ready to do something with dad.
