I could not attend the meeting on the 26th in Princeton, KY but here is my summarized understanding of the events:

Results of Dept's study were announced very briefly - there is some confusion but here is what we think is proposed:

The proposal is to limit the take to 1 blue/flat over 35 inches; I think 28 inches for channels. Still allow the take of all under that size above McAlpine. The seed is already planted to allow for 2 per license (instead of 1).

From Louisville down there is a special clause granting 44 selected commercial fisherman a hall pass to take 4 fish over 40 inches and an unlimited number under. Everyone else is restricted to the same regs above dam.

CFers that live in a state that does not offer non-resident CF licenses to KY residents (OH) will only be allowed to renew their KY non-resident CF license until the year they do not renew. When it's gone, it's gone although there was mention of them being able to pass/transfer that privilege to their children.

A CF shouted out that he would kill everyone of his caught fish before he'd throw any back - that didn't settle well with a few - cops were called and meeting was adjourned.

Only person allowed to speak at podium with prepared comments is head of CF Association who just so happens to be a retired wildlife officer.

When have you ever heard of a regulation that allows for a carve-out for a select few? Is this the good ole boys club or what?

The proposals will be presented at the Fisheries Committee Meeting 11/1 at 8:30 A.M. 1 Sportsman Lane, Frankfort. Open to the public.

There will be a 30 day period for public comment after regs are proposed to public. Not sure anything will change regardless. If you fish from Louisville down you better speak your mind because here they come.
