Went fishing Friday below Meldahl with a buddy... for whatever would bite. Started jigging for sauger along the lock wall without success but started throwing a white rooster tail and caught 15 white/hybrids in about 30 minutes when the bite stopped. We moved down the Ohio side bank to the little creek mouth point without success. Then we moved down river a bit to the creek mouth on the Ky side just below the Foster Ky ramp. A guy was fishing from the bank and caught a few sauger, I believe with blade bait or spoon. he said he had caught a couple of crappie as well. We drifted down the bank fishing shad colored cranks. I caught two drum and my buddy caught a 3 lb largemouth.
Water temps ranged from 53 around 9AM to 57 around 2. Hope to go again this Friday. Any other thoughts, comments, suggestions about this stretch of water?
...and a big THANK YOU to all the veterans out there!!
