    Legal vs Illegal Immigration..........

    Mr. Legal vs. Mr. Illegal

You have two families: “Mr. Legal” and “Mr. Illegal” . Both families have two parents, two children, and live in California.

Mr. Legal works in construction, has a Social Security Number and makes $25.00 per hour with taxes deducted.

Mr. Illegal also works in construction, has NO Social Security Number, and gets paid $15.00 cash “under the table.”

    Ready? Now pay attention…

Mr. Legal: $25.00 per hour x 40 hours = $1000.00 per week, or $52,000.00 per year. Now take 30% away for state and federal tax; Mr. Legal now has $31,231.00.

Mr. Illegal: $15.00 per hour x 40 hours = $600.00 per week, or $31,200.0 0 per year. Mr. Illegal pays no taxes. Mr. Illegal now has $31,200.00.

Mr. Legal pays medical and dental insurance with limited coverage for his family at $600.00 per month, or $7,200.00 per year. Mr. Legal now has $24,031.00.

Mr. Illegal has full medical and dental coverage through the state and local clinics and emergency hospitals at a cost of $0.00 per year. Mr. Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Mr. Legal makes too much money and is not eligible for food stamps or welfare. Joe Legal pays $500.00 per month for food, or $6,000.00 per year. Mr. Legal now has $18,031.00.

Mr. Illegal has no documented income and is eligible for food stamps, WIC and welfare. Mr. Illegal still has $31,200.00.

Mr. Legal pays rent of $1,200.00 per month, or $14,400.00 per year. Mr. Legal now has 9,631 .00.

Mr. Illegal receives a $500.00 per month Federal Rent Subsidy. Mr. Illegal pays out that $500.00 per month, or $6,000.00 per year. Mr. Illegal still has $ 31,200.00.

Mr. Legal pays $200.00 per month, or $2,400.00 for car insurance. Some of that is uninsured motorist insurance. Mr. Legal now has $7,231.00.

Mr. Illegal says, “We don’t need no stinkin’ insurance!” and still has $31,200.00.

Mr. Legal has to make his $7,231.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, etc..

Mr. Illegal has to make his $31,200.00 stretch to pay utilities, gasoline, and what he sends out of the country every month.

Mr. Legal now works overtime on Saturdays or gets a part time job after work.

Mr. Illegal has nights and weekends off to enjoy with his family and friends.

Mr. Legal’s and Mr. Illegal’s children both attend the same elementary school. Mr. Legal pays for his children’s lunches, while Mr. Illegal’s children get a government sponsored lunch. Mr. Illegal’s children have an after school ESL program. Mr. Legal’s children go home.

Now, when they reach college age, Mr Legal’s kids may not get into a State School and may not qualify for scholarships, grants or other tuition help, even though Mr Legal has been paying for State Schools through his taxes, while Mr. Illegal’s kids “go to the head of the class” because they are a minority.

Mr. Legal and Mr. Illegal both enjoy the same police and fire services, but Mr Legal paid for them and Mr. Illegal did not pay.

    Do you get it, now?

Illegal Immigration, no matter HOW you look at it, is BAD for America. Any politician that supports ANY expansion of this ILLEGAL network of workers, needs to go............PERIOD.

While I agree with you about the ILLEGALS who sneak into this country without going though the proper channels I also think that those people who hire these illegals should be put in jail.

Rats won't come to your home unless you have food and shelter to provide for them. If people would stop paying them Illegally (the employer is responsible for paying their social security to the Feds) then they would not be here.

We have lots of good people who know that they can hire an illegal an treat them as slaves were treated years ago. If the illegal complain about their employer they get into trouble and shipped out or go to jail. But the employers are the ones who attracts them and pay them under the table. They too should be punished.

It's sort of Ironic in that we took this country away from the people who lived here before the Europeans came to this continent and now these people are taking back this land one illegal at a time. They come here ten to twenty at a time when there is no way in Hell a army of 10,000 would be allowed to come here in a all out attack on our country. It's akin to gorilla warfare vs the old line them up in straight line rows and face the enemy in an open field and fire away at each other.

IMO....Here is the problem with going after employers. Be aware..I am not condoning this, this is just how skewred up this is. The federal and some state gubments are allowing illegals. That's hard to believe but..they are allowing illegal activity by creating safe cities and the feds attack states who try and make laws against illegals...why should the employer take the hit? The gubment for decades have used thi topic as another talking point but usually cower in the shadows when it's time to be accountable.

Geo's example hits home on so many levels but man it's to late to stop it. Now the only thing that can be done is amnesty. If not that nothing else will happen..nothing! These elected folks will not build that wall, have voter ID or make it impossible to make money over here because some Liberal group will cry foul and miss the point that these are illegals who are not following the law that my Mom did or all her friends did when they wanted to become american citizens.

At least Arizona is still trying to enforce the laws even after this administration attacked them.

This is just another shining example of why I cannot stand any additional gubment interference or laws (obamacare) because they can't do the existing stuff properly. I am amazed at people who actually think otherwise.

    its what I've been saying

Selective law enforcement! Plenty of blame to share. The police who don't enforce immigration laws. The elected local officials who turn a blind eye to employer scoff laws. And the ones who hire them, all are breaking laws. IS THAT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE?

You know they interfere! Explain Arizonas battle with the Feds please. When law enforcement can't profile by simply asking a person who looks like they could be from Mexico for an ID then yes the gubment is getting it the way. You know that just like anyone else.
Who do you think informs the police not to do that? It is known here in Lexington of the drop off street for bus loads of illegals. It's been discussed for years on local talk radio but we were designated a safe city so they are welcome here. Whose fault is that? Wanna bet law enforcement was told not to check these people? I fuel up once a week at a super America in this area and 80-90% of the people there are Hispanic. They are standing outside waiting for tax free work and at times a van pulls up with 10 young men jumping out to get coffee and snacks. It's easy to see how much of a problem this is and I agree many factors contribute to the problem but you cannot dismiss an administration that has taken steps to protect illegals in this country from being identified and prosecuted. They are buying votes and like I said for years Obama and the dem party will grant amnesty to millions of these illegals and I bet that are searching for a Hispanic woman and or man to be on the potus ticket next election. It's how the game is played....win win win for power and pushing party ideals on us all. Who cares what we want, they will say anything to get the votes.

I believe illegals should be deported, there is plenty of finger pointing but I doubt we would have an illegal problem other than illegals working for lower wages than the rest of us so I guess most of the blame lies with the folks who are benefiting financially from them being here and that would seem to me to be the businesses/individuals who are hiring them... They come here to work and they can't do that unless somebody hires them, if nobody hired them they wouldn't be here or there would be a lot fewer of them.

Profiling good or bad. Not really sure

We should be able to ask people if they are legal or not. If I were stopped today I could show my Social Security Card and a Photo ID (IN Drivers License) and a hunting/fishing license which I keep in my wallet and on my person at all times. And If I had time I could get my birth certificate in I had to.

There is no way we can catch the illegals without profiling them. It's obvious to me that most of the illegals come here over land not by sea. That means that most of them come into the US from the South though Mexico. It's pretty easy to tell them from most legal Americans. First off they look like Indians from South American and don't look like White Europeans. And the newest illegals can't speak English as their first language. If you find a Mexican looking dude who only speaks Spanish then you can be pretty sure that he just arrived in this country and most likely snuck in across the border.

I guess I'm a hard ass on rounding up the illegal. In fact pretty soon we are going to have Cesar Melon coming to town to put on his show. He openly admits in one of his books that he is not here legally. While he is here illegally I see nothing wrong with rounding him up and making him prove that he entered this country legally and it not an illegal. But that's just me. And I really like the guy. I think he does a good job of teaching people how to handle their dogs. And he is a likeable guy. If it were not against the law to sneak in here I'd have him over for lunch. But where do we draw the line. 1 guy, 1000 guys, 1,000,000 guys or 100,000,000 guys?

Our country has been overrun with illegals over the last 50 years to 100 years and it's only getting worst.

What good is it to have a country if you can't control who come in and out of the country? We might as well annex Mexico and make them the 51 st State. At least we can get them to pay taxes if we did that. OK I'm being facetious.

Two weeks ago I hired the best construction company in our area to push vines and bushes off of about 3 acres of land. Part of the growth was blocking some of our view of the lake. I paid a little over $100/hour which took about a day and a half to complete the job. Then a farm tractor came and harrowed the loose roots off that soil and planted about 100 pounds of rye grass (for winter only) which took less than the last half of the day and cost me $300 for that job. I noticed that the tractor driver was Mexican and absolutely refused to speak to me or my husband in either Spanish or English. He, too, was employed by the same company that we hired to do the bulldozer work. He wouldn't look either of us in the face and when he finished the job he loaded the tractor and left without saying a word. I still think he was an illegal immigrant. I also think he is the same person who did some work for me about three years ago and stayed hidden behind a large round bale of hay when I was outside instructing his foreman and another Mexican on the job I wanted done.

I have known the owner of the construction company all of my life and he is an elected public official. I would be surprised if anyone ever asked those Mexicans for their green card or any other type of proof of legal residency.

Sorry Don, but I have to disagree. You cannot ignore the mployers, they are as much of the problame as anything and deserve a ton of blame. They hire illegal immigrants and ignore the laws for the sake of greed. If the places hiring illegal workers were cracked down on then there is less work for illegals, which is why they come here in the first place.

Reading this example makes me wish I WASN'T LEGAL. My gosh, we get screwed at every turn by our corrupt, inept, red-tape bureaucracy of a self-serving government.

But my solution to the immigration issue is to throw the doors open wide and let anyone who wants to come live and work in the USA do so with very little red-tape or hassle. Let them sign a document or something and prove their identity and then let them stay here. In other words, make the path to Legal Immigration have as little resistance as possible.
