Caught New Personal Best: 7+lber

I was lucky enough to get to fish Guntersville 2 weekends in a row. Last week was filled with a bunch of 5's and 4's with a 6.2 being caught by my partner for big fish. Yesterday evening we fished in the rain and I was fortunate to get this monster. Fished weighed exactly 7.5 on the dot. One pic below has it on the right and a 5lber on the left for comparison. I had a ball!

I caught this big one on a swimbait. Last week the topwater bite was on and we caught them but that has cooled off.

I'm definitely a believer in G-ville. However I must say we would've been a lost ball in high weeds if we had not hooked up with a guide. Jim Leary put us on the fish from the time we stuck our poles in the water and it was over from that point. I'm happy to share his info for anyone that sends me a PM. If you've never been to that lake it's so big it can be overwhelming. I'll be going back regularly and hopefully learn as much as possible and retain it in the ole memory bank for years to come!
