I would look at Dave Stewarts past fishing reports for that time of year. He always gives good detail in what baits and in what colors are working.

I will be coming to Ky/Barkley the second week of March. I have only fishes Kentucky in the fall of the year. I understand that there should be a jerk bait bite on at that time. Which jerk bait and color is the best to throw at that time of year. You may PM me if you wish

The late winter/early spring jerkbait bite is one of my favorite times of the year. Of course, like any other pattern, it is not on every day depending on water conditions but when it is on, it is definitely a lot of fun and a good pattern for some big early feeding females here on Kentucky/Barkley.
We have taken bass on a lot of different jerkbaits over the years but here are some that are proven high percentage colors/models that I always have in my boat that time of year:
Lucky Craft Pointers:
Aurora Black
Clown
Pearl Ayu
Table Rock Shad
Chartreuse Shad
Rapala Huxky Jerks:
Black/Chrome
Blue/Chrome
Clown
Smithwick Rogue:
Table Rock Shad
Black/Chrome/Orange
Mega Bass:
Ito Watsugi
I had BAG5 Baits paint me up some Mega Bass bodies in the Aurora Black, Pearl Ayu and Table Rock Shad patterns this past winter and used them this past March with a lot of success also.
