George, if your rainsiut is only 15 hours old, you probably could have stood in the shower a few minutes and got it clean!!! (LOL). They sell a product at Cabela's called NIKWAX, it's a two part proceedure, the first is the cleaning agent specifically for gortex and second is a restorer which restores the waterproofing properties in gortex.

That should be years ...........the NIKWAX stuff is TEKwash, I think. Actually, I spelled it wrong......it is tech wash.

I got some of the tech wash stuff at Top Sports off Green River and the Lloyd Expressway in Evansville, IN. I've not used it yet. I have two older Gortex Rain Suits that my father and I used to wear back in the 1980's. They are too small for me to wear now. I thought about washing and restoring the waterproofing on them and giving them to someone for a small fee. I can't even remember this size. I wear XL right now and they might be large or medium size. I wore them when I was in college about 30 something years ago. The only thing wrong with them is that they are too small for me and they leak a little in the seat when you sit on them too long in the rain. But the tech wash and other stuff should put the water proofing back into the Gortex.

Bass Pro Shop has the 100MPH raingear on sale; $179 for Parka and $149 for the bibs. Wish I had waited now. I bought a new set last February.

I have the Gander Mountain Guide series but it doesn't do justice for the real bad days weither rain, cold, or both. I invested in Shimano Dryfender Gear. I can tell you so far the best investment. It is an investment! I have been on Barkley lake when it is 38 degrees and on KY with 5" of rain and the previous gear I had just didn't work. Reguardless of what brand you get, I would make sure to buy for most extreme. You can always peel off clothing but may never had brought enough orginally.

Whatever gear you get, it is not a good idea to wear them when working a charcoal grill in the rain (or not in the rain I guess). Water proof fabric does not like the heat or smoke!
