Im curious....have you ever lived in a larger city? Somewhere with a bad part of town that you don't dare go into if your white?!?!?
DJD, I have never lived in a big city, always lived in a rural area. and there are areas around here that I wouldn't want to be walking through. some of these guys will rob and kill you for what change is in your pocket. and you don't have to be of a different color. they're just mean trouble makers. to sorry to breathe, if breathing didn't come automatic, I think some would just die. I'v been in several large citys in my life, and I really didn't know what areas were good side or bad side of town. but I can say this, I have never had a black person to cross me in my life. but have had to deal with white trouble makers in the past. what I'm trying to say, if your in the city or out in the rural areas, there are people that just don't respect other people. there are good people in all races, and a few that don't care for anything. I try and treat everyone with respect, no matter where they're from or what race. but if I had to pick a race that I thought was the worse, my honest answer would have to be white. the sorriest people I know are white.

If someone is targeted because of race it is a hate crime. Where is the FBI doing there little investigation? Spending millions and millions to say "there is no problem."

I lived and went to school in Indy back in the 60's. It was during the time MLK was speaking in cities around the country. I would go to school daily and hear the black kids yelling " We are going to over come". The racial tension were strong. Black kids would run in gangs and catch a white kid in the school restrooms or wherever they could and the fights would begin. We were young. To young to understand all that was going on back then but old enough to be afraid. My father would watch the news nightly with me by his side. The news would show riots where ever MLK would speak. We were afraid that he would come to our city to speak. If he did we felt that the city would be tore apart. There was a street (Indiana Ave.) where white police officers could no longer patrol because of shots being fired at them.

One night as we sat in the car at a store. Mom was just a few feet away from getting back into the car when a black man jerked the car door open and put a large knife up to dad's throat demanding money. I guess we must have been in a hurry that night because as mom was coming to the car dad had put the car in reverse. Anyway dad gassed the car knocking the man to the ground mom jumped in and we drove off.

A good friend of mine is a black man and I treat him and anyone else as I want to be treated. We treat each other as family.

There is good and bad in all races. I have been in a lot of cities big and small in my lifetime. I was in Detroit three times back in the 80's and did not know the city. After watching the nightly news there I stayed in my motel at night. It seamed they were reporting shootings or stabbings or gang stuff nightly. The city looked like hell back then. There was a show on tv about a pawn shop in Detroit. If you have not seen it and it is still on watch it. Detroit is a whole other world!

I was in Toledo Oh. in the 90's trying to find a motel room due to a family death. I had stopped at 4 or 5 motels trying to find a room and everyone said that all motels were full due to a KKK convention. A very nice black lady at one of the motels called all over town and found us a room.

I am not a raciest. But there are raciest in all shapes and colors.

    Sorry for the long post.
