Dale hollow fishing in the snow ?

I've never been in dale much less even saw that lake but I have been told when fishing the fnf the worse the weather the better the fishing.

Its been my experience that largemouth bite better prefrontal and the smallies bite better during and postfrontal. The only thing snow has to do with the fish biting, is that it generally imdicates a frontal passage and like was mentioned, it usually falls under low light conditions. Ive had bright bluebird days where we wore the smallies out at dale, and somenasty weather days that we struggled, so you can take it all for what its worth. When the fish are ready to eat, theyll eat. All you can do is keep your bait in the higher percentage areas

I don't think that holds true when it comes to the wind. If the waves are too big, it gives the fly an unnatural amount of motion for that type of water temperature. So if it's snow or rain that's come in with a decent amount of wind blowing, it's probably not going to be that good for FnF.

Michael, i remember you catching a goodun on the fly on cumberland in some rollers. We had to just watch for our bobbers when they were on top of the waves

well,i guess the only way to find out is to to fish dh when its snowing at different times and see what happens. but I agree it has a lot to do with weather condition factors more than just snow !

From what I have seen on Dale this indeed holds true. I have fished it for over 20 years and I pray that it either rains or snows everytime I'm there. Never been there and not caught fish when it was snowing. It has more to do with the low light levels than anything.
