As I learn the game I can see the importance of distances to the flag, bunkers, greens and spots to lay up so you can hit that comfortable wedge shot. We use the poles, sprinkler heads and marked steel plates but I can see a range finder being quicker to determine distances. Especially on courses I may not be familiar with (that's most of them!) I was just wanting to get on the green before and putting from wherever it landed. More recently I have been playing golf with a guy from work who really has a good mental approach to the game, things like where my ball should be on the green as opposed to what I was doing and just feeling good about being on the green.
You guys who have golfed more know about what a more desirable putt is and what isn't and I love that uphill putt more than a downhill any day! I really love the game I just wish I would have started when I was a kid not when I was 49.
I plan on treating myself to a Christmas gift and getting one. Bushnell looks like the direction I'm going but was hoping to get some personal experience reviews from folks before I get one.
