The military men and women can be gone with very short notice and not come back for months or years and quite possibly be killed if caught up in a conflict. Families are left to fend for themselves. The other occupations can usually go home at night and not be gone for months or years and there really isn't an Army of ex firemen, DEA or police missing limbs, dealing with PTSD or trying to figure out how to fit back into society. I'm sure it is more difficult to determine who should be supported and who shouldn't but that's just my thoughts.

The police and fireman should not be subjected to the cuts and treatment from their local councilmen when it comes to budget cuts either. Cut other programs or redirect the wasteful spending that every gubment does first, second and third... Start with how much is given to the illegals.

i know it's been mentioned before but the way our leaders handle veterans with healthcare can be down right criminal. I have seen it get better but I'm sure there are places in this country where vets are being left out in the cold on getting treatment. There use to be a Fella on here (big poppy?) who told of how he was treated and some of those were awful.

I am conservative by nature but have a soft spot for the military and hardworking tax paying Americans and when I see money getting wasted on people who are not either one of those it pisses me off. I would rather (waste, over spend, bailout or aid) these folks first and let the illegals or foreign countries fight for the rest. There should be a pecking order of who deserves what but our elected fools got it all jumbled up, backasswards and confused.

Hahaha I went all over the place sorry for the rant.
I'm all for SOCIAL responsibility when you can determine the person receiving aid is

    1). AMERICAN
2). Disabled, and I don't mean the bull **** disabled "metrics" we use today.....I mean DISABLED.
3). Veteran, or Cop or Fireman, or Frontline DEA..........or Border patrol. You get the idea.
4). Mentally disabled. And if deemed mentally incapacitated, then they should be instutionalized.

Who I don't believe should get a handout.

1). Welfare Momma's who simply pop out kids because they can. There are exceptions, but MAN, we have created a society of folks living off the dole.

2). Unemployment. If you draw unemployment, you get it for the original 26 weeks, and then after that TOUGH ****.

3). Methadone Clinics. Are you kidding me. If you're hooked on drugs. Lock them up and dry them out in a CHAIN GANG prison. Much better use of my tax dollars.

4). Fake Disabilities. Disabled is fine, and there are cases where you should collect a check, but for every 1 case, there are about 5 that are complete and utter ********........EFFECTIVELY manage those and eliminate the waste.

So I adjusted my thought a little. ANYONE who puts themselves in harms way for society should be effectively compensated and taken care of for the risks they take for the betterment of our society.

****, I'm beginning to sound like a socialist

That is not sounding like a socialist, that is reasonable thinking. I agree with you. We should expect to provide for those who put themselves in harms way to aid society. For example, military personal who are protecting this country should not have to worry whether their spouse, significant other, or kids will be cared for should something happen to them.

The video addressed funding the military and that is good because they protect every one. It is not taking from one class and giving to another. same goes for fireman, police, FBI etc.
