TELL IT BRO TELL IT!
Here's the thing.....A&E needs Phil it's the number one rated TV show of its type on televison. Phil does NOT need A&E and I'm positive has no problem telling them to go quack theirself............Pun definately intended.
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sick of being made to understand and accept crap and being told I'm a redneck racist if I don't. I so agree with Tyme on this, do what you want but don't make me sit around the camp fire making smores and pushing your agenda if I don't want to.....................AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
Now lets all go to Packers Perch and roast a weiner..............lolTELL IT BRO TELL IT!

Not sure why do many people all the time seem to forget that free speech doesn't have anything to do with the private sector. Nobody locked him up for saying what he said. But his employer decided to take action, and that's well within their right. Heck, they could fire him or cancel the show at any time and for no reason at all if they wanted.
That's not the point. I get what you are saying but if someone, you, me anybody is asked a specific question we should be able to answer in our best sincere way and not be condemned for it that is the real point here. Today's liberal anything goes society wants us all to accept and acknowledge almost anything as per say ''normal'' and not judge to which I say poppycock. Not sure why do many people all the time seem to forget that free speech doesn't have anything to do with the private sector. No - I don't believe that at all and it doesn't have anything to do with gay or anti-gay. What if they asked him how he liked working for that show and he said they were all crooks and miserable people and that nobody should support it?That's not the point. He gets paid big bucks by that show and if he does something that they feel may negatively impact their ratings, then I think it's well within their right to cancel the show or fire him if they choose. In fact, it's pretty understandable.
“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” Robertson stated. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”
“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job,” Robertson told GQ. “We just love ‘em, give ‘em the good news about Jesus – whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ‘em out later.”

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. The man stated his opinion. It is their opinions about life that make the show what it is anyway. It's what the show's audience enjoys and relates with.
A&E absolutely has the right to fire him, as his employer. They can stand up for their beliefs just like Phil can, but unfortunately they drive the boat as the employer. I think them exercising that right is completely suicidal for their network, given the enormous success and following behind Duck Dynasty...but whatever! I mean, this is a show with no cursing, no sexuality (aside from a little "Butter on the Biscuits" between Phil and Miss Kay)...and aside from killing Ducks, which probably upsets animal rights nutjobs...it's probably the least potentially offensive show on tv.
You're telling me that no other star/actor on any other A&E Programming has ever expressed their opinion about something in an interview that might offend somebody?
Get real. This country is full of absolute panzies.
Oh, and for those saying that the Robertsons should just pack up and go to another network...A&E may be dumb, but they aint stupid. I'm sure there are contractual obligations that prevent them from just jumping to another carrier.
A&E FIRED phil, he didn't quit, I would hope that would mean "contractual obligations met and released" .
the bad thing is truth be known Phil Robertson is probably the happiest retired tv star in the world today, not to sure he would want to enter the Hollywood world again....
They could all go on GQ and say exactly what Phil said and get out of the contract or get a lawyer to sue A&E for firing Phil and not them. Easy as pie.
If the quit the show there are ways to do it right. If A&E were smart they would get down on their hands and knees and beg Phil for forgiveness and put him back on the show immediately and give a public apology to him and his entire family and all his friends.
According to what I'm reading in the local news polls Phil has about 90% + of the people on his side and A&E has about 2% support.
Duck Dynasty is one of the funniest shows on TV. It's the only wholesome show on TV that I can stand to watch for three hours straight and it could even be reruns and I'm still watching it. Like you said there is not hardly any cusing or foul language. There is no sexuality per say although the women are HOT! There family time and praying at supper time. Its' sort of a modern day "WALTONS" for the 21st century set in the Swamps of Lousiana.
I'm hard to please when it comes to TV shows. So the second a commercial comes on I'm grabbing the remote and flipping to another channel. The only TV channel that I really stay on for any length of time is PBS as they don't have as many commercials on that channel. I could go on and on about too many and too long TV commercials but I won't do that here.
Suffice it to say that Duck Dynasty is an acquired taste for me and I watch it when ever I find it while channel surfing. If they take it off the air I'm going to be piss off at A&E.

Again I think we are talking about two entirely different things. I agree that any that employs people for a paycheck has the right to call the shots, I get that, we agree. We are talking about the bigger picture. No - I don't believe that at all and it doesn't have anything to do with gay or anti-gay. What if they asked him how he liked working for that show and he said they were all crooks and miserable people and that nobody should support it?

Also to restate the Robertson's didn't need that show when it started and they darn sure don't need it now. They own the line of the # 1 selling Duck calls in the world...........Yes the world, Duck hunting is HUGE in Europe and many other countries. They were all worth Millions prior to that show.
