as for A&E, they exercised their "right" to support a specific group, and distance themselves from another set of beliefs.
Now, in my humble and often incorrect opinion....wrong decision A&E, I will now distance myself from your network, I know I know, they wont miss me, but maybe they will miss the 8.9 million viewers that tuned into the Christmas show.
And Im not sure about anybody else, but if you fire my pappy, me and you aint buds no more. I hope all of them quit the show, go to another network and start another show called "straight shootin".....pun definitely intended

I read about this this morning in the news paper

I'm getting sick and tired of this political correct bs. Phil Robertson is right. A&E should apologize to him and his entire family or else the guys should all just quit doing the show just to show the execs at A&E TV that that the boys are the boss of this show. These guys are way too popular to have this happen to them.

If Phil believe that being gay is a sin so be it. He's entitled to his believes. I for one am tired of this GAY PRIDE crap.

And I was pretty mad when the fired Imus too. They should put Imus back on TV.

Imus does a lot of good with the kids at his ranch. And he apologized for what he said. I didn't always watch Imus in the morning as I didn't always get up that early but the day he said the comments that got him fired I had gotten up early that morning just to watch Imus. I heard him say those words and thought to myself at the time. Did he just say that? Oh boy he's going to be in trouble for saying that. But I sure didn't think they would take him off the air for saying that.

oh wait a minute, that's right....its okay for people that have different beliefs to have parades and special interest lobbyist, and movie stars, and so on and so on to continually assault us with a relentless campaign to accept them for what they are and that their beliefs are harmless to society. WELL ITS NOT HARMLESS !!! AND THE FIRING OF PHIL ROBERTSON IS PROOF !!!!

sorry, Ive got to go throw up !

I cant even think straight im so mad.....am I allowed to say that? "think straight" ?

“It seems like, to me, a vagina – as a man – would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me,” Robertson stated. “I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.”

“We never, ever judge someone on who’s going to heaven, hell. That’s the Almighty’s job,” Robertson told GQ. “We just love ‘em, give ‘em the good news about Jesus – whether they’re homosexuals, drunks, terrorists. We let God sort ‘em out later.”
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I really don't understand what all the fuss is about. The man stated his opinion. It is their opinions about life that make the show what it is anyway. It's what the show's audience enjoys and relates with.

A&E absolutely has the right to fire him, as his employer. They can stand up for their beliefs just like Phil can, but unfortunately they drive the boat as the employer. I think them exercising that right is completely suicidal for their network, given the enormous success and following behind Duck Dynasty...but whatever! I mean, this is a show with no cursing, no sexuality (aside from a little "Butter on the Biscuits" between Phil and Miss Kay)...and aside from killing Ducks, which probably upsets animal rights nutjobs...it's probably the least potentially offensive show on tv.

You're telling me that no other star/actor on any other A&E Programming has ever expressed their opinion about something in an interview that might offend somebody?

Get real. This country is full of absolute panzies.

Oh, and for those saying that the Robertsons should just pack up and go to another network...A&E may be dumb, but they aint stupid. I'm sure there are contractual obligations that prevent them from just jumping to another carrier.

He gets paid big bucks by that show and if he does something that they feel may negatively impact their ratings, then I think it's well within their right to cancel the show or fire him if they choose. In fact, it's pretty understandable.
Again I think we are talking about two entirely different things. I agree that any that employs people for a paycheck has the right to call the shots, I get that, we agree. We are talking about the bigger picture.

Also to restate the Robertson's didn't need that show when it started and they darn sure don't need it now. They own the line of the # 1 selling Duck calls in the world...........Yes the world, Duck hunting is HUGE in Europe and many other countries. They were all worth Millions prior to that show.

No doubt A & E over reacted look at all the Hollywood entertainers that give interviews that are considered offensive and nothing is done.

All A & E needed to do was come out and say that what Phil Robertson said did not represent the views of the network but they were his personal views. If the ratings of Duck Dynasty crashed then they could drop the show. Let the viewers decide.

    Phil doesn't like A&E anyway.

This is not the first time Phil has bad mouthed A&E and the Show's Producers. He said before that they edited out stuff that was said. When the family prays the network edited out some things in the show and that upset Phil and the gang. So Phil was not really happy with A&E before this interview.

These guys are MILLIONAIRES and were rick long before Duck Dynasty too off as a top show. This will be A&E's loss not the Robertsons. In fact I would think that any other TV producer would be smart to swoop in and sign the Duck Dynasty Clan to a new TV Show. They guys could market some new "Clay Pigeons" with the words A&E stamped on them. They would make good targets especially is the put some of that new exploding material in the clay pigeons so that they blow up when hit.

I'd buy a case or two of them myself. And if they make some paper targets with the A&E jerk's face who fired Phil on the target I'd definitely use that paper target for some target practice.

Duck Dynasty is a good show

Duck Dynasty is one of the funniest shows on TV. It's the only wholesome show on TV that I can stand to watch for three hours straight and it could even be reruns and I'm still watching it. Like you said there is not hardly any cusing or foul language. There is no sexuality per say although the women are HOT! There family time and praying at supper time. Its' sort of a modern day "WALTONS" for the 21st century set in the Swamps of Lousiana.

I'm hard to please when it comes to TV shows. So the second a commercial comes on I'm grabbing the remote and flipping to another channel. The only TV channel that I really stay on for any length of time is PBS as they don't have as many commercials on that channel. I could go on and on about too many and too long TV commercials but I won't do that here.

Suffice it to say that Duck Dynasty is an acquired taste for me and I watch it when ever I find it while channel surfing. If they take it off the air I'm going to be piss off at A&E.

A&E FIRED phil, he didn't quit, I would hope that would mean "contractual obligations met and released" .
the bad thing is truth be known Phil Robertson is probably the happiest retired tv star in the world today, not to sure he would want to enter the Hollywood world again....

How many gays are duck hunter and watch DD?

A&E's producers just made a huge Blunder and if they are smart they better get down on their hands and knees and start praying that Phil and the boys don't leave this show right now.

Like I said earlier above. The boys and Phil and Sly will be ok without A&E. It's the people who love Duck Dynasty that will be out of luck. People like you and me.

I doubt any gay people will miss DD or even watch it.

That said, I support Phil Robertson 100%. Matter of fact I told my wife this afternoon when what he said made the news that he (Phil) is a smart man and likely did this knowing the type of controversy it would cause. My guess is he knows fame is fleeting and that right now when they are at their peak of fame he purposely used it as an opportunity to say exactly what he wanted to say knowing it would be the opportunity for his message to reach the most people possible. I seriously doubt he cares at all about fame or being on television, but looked at it as an opportunity to share his faith. Good for him, and he is a good example of a man defending his faith, standing for his convictions and not selling out.
    well stated.

A&E also forced the Robertson's to quit praying on their show because Christian Beliefs are Offensive to Muslims.

The Attacks on Christians,White People, and Normal Living is being led by the Liberal Communist Media and Hollywood.

Funny how only the rights of sexual deviates and Muslims matter in a country founded on Christianity.

On a side note a couple who own a bakery in Colorado are facing jailtime by a federal judge because they refused to bake a wedding cake for a lesbian couple that went against their religious beliefs. The judge ordered them to bake the cake or go to prison.
