    A simple Physics Lesson

Here is a simple Physics lesson for ya all.

Gasoline, when cold is more dense than when it is warm. The past few days of warming has warmed the 40 degree gasoline in my boat tank to nearly 60 degrees. That was enough to expand the gasoline enough to LEAK all over my **** garage floor.

Imagine the fumes. The filled my garage and my home.

In the future, I may leave a gallon of expansion room.

    Talk about a smelly mess.

You are lucky your garage didn't burn up

You are very lucky that you don't have a hot water heater with an open flame in that garage or your entire garage could have caught on fire with all the gasoline leaking out of the gas tank in your boat.

Why do you fill up the tank so full in the winter time ? Always leave some extra room for the gas to expand. I store my boat in an unheated garage and have never had that happen to me in the last 15 years.

I'm glad you caught the problem before it caused a fire. Look at it this way. At least all the bugs will have been driven out of your garage by the gasoline fumes.

Well the boat usually never sits this time of year, and when we have warm snaps like this, I'm generally ON the water. This was a fluke.

AND yea, you're right I'm lucky I didn't burn the whole **** place down. I'm mad at myself for allowing it to happen.
