    tough day on Cumberland

Just as I figured it would be, the ramp at Jamestown was loaded with trucks and boat trailers Saturday morning. There wasn't much going on for me yesterday. Even dragging live shiners for smallmouth, I caught no fish. My friend fishing near me in his boat, caught one 17-inch smallmouth and a keeper Kentucky on a live shiner.
The water on the main lake was slightly stained with temperatures ranging from 47 - 49 degrees around Pig pen and the five fingers areas. Better luck next time I guess.
Anyone else got a report from anywhere yesterday.

Went to Cumberland yesterday and it was a little slow. We had live bait and only caught 2 smallies on them. One 4-4.5lbs and one about 18". We had 6 more fish on artificial with a 17.5" smallie and two solod kys in the 2-3lb range. Those fish came on jigs and shakey heads

Fished green yesterday and had a pretty good day. We caught several nice spots on tubes and my buddy caught a real nice crappie on a bass tube. It was a very good day to be out and enjoying Gods creation.

Fished Friday in Indian, Boated one smallie just shy of 22". Man she was pretty. I also caught a limit of fat spots. I had to laugh at their fat bellies. Kinda looked like me after Christmas dinner. Could only fish the one day but it was a goodin.

    Greasy Creek

We fished Greasy Creek area for stripers mid morning to mid afternoon on Saturday trolling with umbrella rigs. We had 8 strikes, 4 hookups, one long line release, one broke off, & netted two at 25 & 27 inches. We had one double & I think that's how we lost the one fish. It broke off when it tangled with the other line. Never had so many misses either. Usually need pliers to remove the bait from deep down but both were lip hooked. I usually fish shiners this time of year, but my bait shop was out of shiners. Musta' left the house too late.
