He recieved a silver star, and purple heart, and would let me feel the piece of shrap (spell) metal they couldn't get out of his hand.He was one of my biggest heroes. I was5 yrs old when WW 11 broke out, watched uncles go off to war. My step dad was a soldier before the war broke out.Mom worked for Douglas aircraft during the war.That vspirit can be rekindled, the draft made many un willing heroes, and korea and viet nam also proved something.If we not 100% for a war. we wont win it. I found a book of old ration coupons that my mom saved.I also remember buying war stamps in school, any old codgers remember those? If and when they are needed americans will do what needs to done.
