So who will fill his position at UL? I know a good wide receiver coach in Florida who has Head Coach experience!!!! They should continue the tradition of Gator to Cards coaching jobs......please?!?!?!?![]()

Reading online at several sources that Texas has offered Charlie Strong and that he has accepted...a 5 Year $25 Million deal...likely to come to light over the weekend.
Just reported on Sports Center as "likely" as I'm typing this.
He gone.
I know I'm a Big Blue homer, but I actually liked Charlie Strong.

As usual my prediction was spot on. Now the question of who replaces charlie. Do they go after another D or O coordinater or a smaller schools head coach. Regardless i think its a step back for UL an now UK might be within 2 years of competing with them instead of, well, never. If UK starts to compete itll just be a matter of time till somebody swoops stoops. No dignity at all in the college coaching ranks at all anymore
Be careful. If it's not "official", you might be made fun of on this board.
Bobby Paterino has been looking for houses in Louisville. If he wants to leave let him.
Bring back this guy!

Well, it is 4:18 on Saturday and still no "official" word. Charlie met with his coaching staff this morning at 9 a.m. and said he hadn't made a decision yet, but it seems he is waiting for Jurich to get back (snowed in in Colorado) to talk to him. Two intriguing names have surfeced as the next head coach are David Cutliffe, current Duke head coach, and Jim McElwain, current Colorado St. head coach. McElwain has been a wide reciever coach at Louisville and was offensive coordinator at Alabama under Nick Saban.
Just watching espn and on the bottom line it says that Texas is expecting to announce strong tomorrow. So I would say that he is for sure gone. Who knows maybe he might surprise everyone and stay but it sure don't look good
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Watching Tommy Turtleneck's presser...it sounds like any candidate will be considered, even Bobby P. (Reporter specifically brought his name up.) There was also a specific question about the relationship between Jurich and Petrino, and he said it was fine.
How much was AD-speak? Probably a lot.
Sounds like Strongs leaving was strictly about the prestige of the Texas job and not money...because it sounds like he would have gotten any money that he wanted from Louisville within reason. Leaving on good terms and it sounds like Strong and Jurich handled it with class.
So who will the new coach be?
This just in: Louisville has narrowed their coaching search to 3 candidates, Hal Mumme, Joker Phillips and a head scratcher of a finalist - Billy Gillespie.
