Next weeks cold

Guys get ready the coldest temperatures we have seen in nearly two decades is coming. We have to go back to the 1994 through 1996 years to see anything closely relating to what we have on the way here. I feel with no snow pack at all we will set records at minus zero for lows and single digits for highs in many locations.

If we get a snow pack of just two inches or more we will see low temps away from the city at -10 to -15 and highs may not get past 5 degrees during the day for several days. This is dangerously cold and will cause numerous issues. If your car battery has a little age take action now and plan and prepare the best you can. It's coming fellas it's just a matter of how bad THE BAD is going to be. Power outages and other issues could occur if it lasts a week or so.

Heading to the store to get some covers for my external fawcets.

Was going to have the wife clean the gutters...guess that's out. Danged weather.

If I worked at Wal Mart in TN, I'd sock Al Gore in the head when he comes in to buy up all the milk, TP, and bread.

Jim I use those styrofoam ones and stuff them with insulation and have never had an issue. Although I have never experienced this kind of cold coming at my present residence either. I would like to punch Al Gore with ya, maybe we could tag team him and I could hold him while you come off the top rope with the hammer fist.

We have a weather man here in Louisville that loves this crap and wishes it on us all the time I would definately like to smack the taste of that sum bitches tongue as he OBVIOUSLY doesn't have to deal with this stuff like most of us do. He even has a little thing he says and wears Tie's on air with the letters on it.

Good idea on the insulation, but don't have any, so I hope the air gap between the styrofoam and the fixture will be enough.

At least y'all don't have Radar, the weather dog like we do here in Bowling Green. He's one of them multi colored shepherd dogs with two different colored eyes. Sorta reminds me of my ex-wife. She constantly barked and lied all the time too.

if you have a faucet, that goes through the wall of your house to the outside. the trick to it not freezing, is making sure it don't have a water hose connected to it. I have forgotten to remove the garden hose before, and my outside faucet froze and busted and had to be replaced, I started removing the garden hose from the faucet, and never had another faucet to freeze and bust.

I always remove my hose from the faucet too...learned the hard way when I left one hooked up by accident one year.

But with temps like what is coming, it may not matter.

you guys think any of the forum fishermen, will breakout the F&F tackle and take advantage of these single digit temps. if any do I sure hope they don't forget to take their camera, I may do a little fishing during this cold spell, on YOUTUBE....

I have one of those outside faucets made by Woodford and it's supposed to be antifreeze and so far it has been...guess I been in the house for 13 years now. When it gets bitter like that I do open a door on the cabinets under each sink downstairs but not upstairs.
i really don't like this kind of weather!

I might on Wednesday but my guess is the creeks will be frozen over, at least in the good spots. Only hope is if it's fairly windy. I've waded several times where the waders froze stiff on the walk back to the car - doesn't happen often. If all else fails the woods can always be scouted for new mushroom spots....

I thought I like to fish as much as anyone, but I guess not. man be careful wading in temps that cold. should you slip and get wet, it could be big trouble for you. ever think of taking a changing of warm dry clothes, in a water proof bag, for quick access if needed. good luck to you, if you do brave the cold temps.
