    Man up!

Temps between -5 and +9 degrees expected. Who's in, and who's the micro wave footies wimpy guys out?

I'm thinking top water on the bow @ Cumberland from morning dark to sun up. I'm also thinking the sooner the hypothermia sets in the less mental capacity I'll have to determine exactly how cold and painful it really is.

But isn't that what's it's all about? Expectations that exceed reality encouraging continuance.......By definition, isn't that what fishing really means? Endurance in adversity and the sense of accomplishment it brings, with creel limits expected, exceeded, or denied. Isn't overcoming the advesity part of the accomplishment we seek to reward our psyche with? Or, is it we just have become addicted to the intoxicating effects of 2 storke carbon monoxide?

What if we left the rods and lures at home and just did the Viking thing of enduring the elements with out creel limit rewards? Would the quest be diminished by the catch or the accomplishment increased by the endeavor.

Now, I must depart, and begin pondering my 1040A for this year. There's a similarity respective to both, don't you agree?

May your tax auditor catch less than your Shad Rap. Party on Viking!

Ah, there's nothing like the smell of outboard exhaust on a cold morning. Ditch the Maker's Mark and bring a bottle of Grey Goose and I'm in. We could ride jet skis if the fish aren't biting.

The colder the better I'm in! The fish stacked up all we need is a good sonar. And because it is such a special occasion I'll bring the pappy! Ha!
