    B.A.S.S membership

Is it worth it? What does it do for ya, how long should I join (if I do), and is anyone a member on here.. Any insight on the membership would be great! Thanks in advance, drew

I enjoy reading the articles on a monthly basis. I know they usually have a lot of good deals if you want to get it for an extended period of time. Free tackle and good tips about fishing are always a plus.

Personal opinion, but there's hundreds of other ways to get good info/tips on fishing that don't involve paying a membership fee.

Don't get too excited about the free tackle. You'll get a few worthless hooks and 2 to 3 plastic worms you may or may not be able to use.

I know you're excited to learn more about fishing but the magazine is more of a "sales brochure" than a fishing know how book.

If you do join, just join for a year and you'll understand my comments.

I just recently got a subscription request in the mail ... $12 for 1yr and you got a tackle bag, magazines, patch & decal. Two years costs $18

I belonged to BASS many decades ago, but am more into Crappie nowadays. As with any magazine, ads & infomercial articles are their mainstay, as that's whom pays the bills. You want "free" information & tips ... use the internet. Check out the many YouTube videos, TV anglers/Pros websites & Facebook pages, or check on your search engine of choice for websites (like this one) that are tailored to the species of fish you pursue.

I got the five year subscription. But In my fishing club we have to be a member anyway and I'm also a FLW member in order to fish in my other club.

The biggest thing it does for me is allows me to fish in BASS sanctioned tournaments like the KBFN or any of the Opens, same with FLW, and their magazine is pretty decent.
