Well, in addition to the fact that the first woman was sentenced harsher because of repeat violator statsus, it turns out 27 months was the MAXIMUM sentence, that Farmer could have received. So he got the maximum, and the other lady didn't. Maybe they were harder on Richie because he was famous?

getting 27 months for stealing 1/2 Million dollars, now thats some good money for a thief. I can see why there are so many big time thieves out there.

I think it was light myself, I was only pointing out the differences in the law at sentencing. Your premise was that Farmer was getting off easy because he played basketball at UK, but turns out that is not the case. The lady in your first example was already a convicted felon on probation for the same crime and was sentenced accordingly, Farmer was given the maximum sentence he could receive.
