Though it may or may not be of interest to you, there's a good fly fishing club in N.KY. They are very active and have several group outings a year. I think some of them use spinning tackle too on occasion

The reason I mention the fly fishing club is the majority of their outings group target smallmouth instead of trout.

Kentucky Pond Hoppers has Division 3 that fishes smaller lakes in the Northern KY area (Elmer Davis, Boltz, Bullock Pen, Guist Creek). We are a small boat club (boats must be less than 15 feet and motors 15 hp or less). Feel free to give me a call at 502-930-8008 or send me a message if you want more info.
