Who's the go to person on here/Peabody

I know some of you know different lakes fairly well, I was hoping to get some first hand info on the Peabody state management area. I tried to google it..... Would like info related to one of the lakes I could get into with a pop up an kayak,
boon dock set up w/wife. Last time I pulled into an area for this, the cans an trash was a disappointment, perhaps the result of little or no patrol,,,,, midweek overnighter

The first time I turkey hunted there I brought my canoe because back then you could only hunt till 1:00pm each day. I can't recall the name of the area I was in but I took the Beaver Dam exit then went south of the Parkway. I have no idea what it looks like there now but back then it was clean.

    Peabody

Peabody has changed a lot over the past few years. Much of the land has been sold off to individuals and from my understanding is not clearly marked. A lot of the water ways are no longer reachable unless you pass through private property. You do have to obtain to a permit which I believe is $20yr. A small club I used be a member of held a bass tournament on Peabody. We always fished south lake, or island lake. There is very little info to be found online anymore.

    Which lake?

On the Sinclair Unit they have added many gravel "ramps" to make access easier and better. I could tell you about those but not much on any of the other units.

    Permit is $15 btw.

It is very difficult to tell you which lakes to go to because there is not a good map and everyone has different names from the smaller lakes. My advice is go start at Ken Lake. There are 20 lakes in that general area, all have fish, some are better than others. Take a map and make notes for the next trip. I usually fish that part of Peabody because it is closer to Louisville. However, my brother fishes the Muhlenberg side and thinks it is better. The best part of fishing Peabody is being able to fish 3-4 lakes on each trip. Seems that fish are not always biting on each lake but usually can catch fish in half that I try.

Goose Lake after March 15 when it is no longer a waterfowl refuge.

The deeper lakes are southeast of riverside church road. The other lakes have muck bottoms and aren't very deep comparitively.

Sinclair is the unit closest to the Paradise fossil plant.
