Wolf creek dam

Caught several bows 17 to 18 inches. Largest was 18.5. No walleye or sauger. Only could fish for two hours at first light before the water came up. All in all a good trip but I've got cabin fever even worse than before.

Looking at their 5 day forecast, they are projecting an average discharge rate of 3,000 cfs for Sunday. That's the equiv of one turbine running. Not a bad flow for boating around the dam area (IMO). See link: http://www-wm.lrn.usace.army.mil/hh/.../memrvrbna.txt

Find any current break and cast a no. 10 rapala in clown color into the current and let sweep down to the break and work back to you slowly. If you are in a boat, go to the slack side and use a crappie jig tipped with a minnow on the bottom or jig a blade bait off of the bottom.

Does the clown color work good for walleye and sauger by the dam? Do you recommend a sinking or floating style?

I usually look at TVA.org for the 24 hr forecast. Thanks for sharing the website this will definitely help on my trips to trout heaven of Kentucky.

I use the clown color when I am fishing from the bank. I use crappie jigs tipped with a minnow on the bottom or a blade bait on the current brakes when I am in a boat. I have seen some pulling cranks from a boat but I don't have much luck this time of year doing that
